Second that opinion. It's a cute show but not one that's going to sweep awards. It'll be done far and wide regionally. I found Sam Tutty winning and adorable, so I'm not sure how it would play with a Dougal who's not at his level.

It's sad, at minimum, this show didn't win score. It's both smart and catchy. Something no other musical last season had. It was the best musical last year for us - for many reasons. Small but stronger.

It was great to hear Sam Tutty and Christiani Pitts do three songs live in the subway. I loved that MTA session. It was well edited and a lot of fun. I've seen the show twice but could easily return again.

They haven't announced a closing date.

I know this has been talked to death but… is there a backlog of theaters right now? This show could be around for awhile just because it’s doing well enough and the market is bleak.

For whatever it’s worth, I was there last week (have already seen it a bunch of times) and the usher recognized me and came over to talk for kind of a long time. I was in the front mezz, which was half empty. She said, “I know this doesn’t look great, but they told us we’re not closing anytime soon.”

If that’s true, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ran until the end of the year. It’s almost a holiday show, taking place in December and has an actual holiday song in it (Under the Mistletoe).
