I saw it tonight and had a great time. I appreciate Legally Blonde!
I thought I'd bump this thread as it is no longer the dress rehearsal or first preview. There's nothing like utilizing the appropriate thread...
anywho...
Go see the show if you have a chance. Rush filled up this morning by 9:15-ish, and it was sold out. If you go, it'll most likely put a smile on your face. It was a great way to reconcile a fairly awful week.

So would someone be kind enough to scan/type out the understudy list? I’m wondering it it’s changed at all, and if there’s a listed understudy for Serena yet? Also wonder if Enid will be understudied or played by a swing if Natalie is out. I’m guessing a swing, though I think the Enid role is large enough for an understudy personally.

Saw the show tonight. I enjoyed it a lot. Can't add much without repeating what has already been said. The hsow puts a smile on your face, makes you bop to the music, makes you love dogs and performers, etc. etc.
The cast is great! Everyone is loving it and gets along (so it seems). [[especially Chico and Chloe, you gotta love them]]
I do disagree with some points made already. I think Laura Belle Bundy is wonderful. I think she does have that "star" potential. She sings, acts and dances the role perfectly. Her comic timing is right on, and she wants to be there. This is only the fourth preview, I'm sure she will only improve.
The DeltaNu sisters are hillarious.
At the end of Act I, without giving anything away, Laura's shoe went flying into the audience. She covered perfectly and proceeded to take off and throw her other show into the wings. It helped build her emotions and worked well. I think tehy should keep that as long as she doesn't injure one audience member per show. I heard this happened in San Fransisco once, so it's good to see she has a back up plan in case. I spoke to Jerry Mitchell during rehearsal, and he assured me they were working on a solution for this problem.
I think the show deserves a Tony nomination for best musical, whether or not it will is a different story. If Wedding Singer did, this show, one million times better, should get one if anything. It also deserves nominations in scenic and lighting design. The score is catchy, but nothing breathtaking. I hope it has a good run, the audience enjoyed it thoroughly. I just hope it doesn't attract 11 year old girls like the entire row behind me.
P.S. Rush today wasn't too bad. The people at the front got there around 7, but I got there at around 9 and people who arrived after still got seats. The seats are worth it! The stage is high, but you do not miss anything except set pieces that descend into the stage.
EDIT to say no understudy has been listed for Serena or Enid

There are no understudies listed for Serena. Only the main characters. I am assuming it will be swing.

Haha, I'm curious then: Does somebody out then and get the shoe from in the audience during intermission or what?

But Serena is one of the three main sorority girls, and if the other two have one, it makes since that the Serena character should, too. In the San Francisco playbill the Margot/Pilar understudy isn’t listed in the understudy section, but it was in the bio section.

Just wanted to poke my head in for a second, and ask a question for those who have also seen the show:
Am I the only one who was scared that one of those jump ropes was going to slip out of one of the dancer's hands and into the audience? Those are like the old school, hardcore, weapon-like jump ropes. Those things could seriously injure a person. I was in the front row and was scared as all heck that one of them was going to fling right toward me. Eek!

Well, after the show incident I was scared that anything would fly at me in the front row whether it be a show, a jumprope, a laptop computer, a dog, or what have you.
Yeah, there is one understudy listed for Pilar/Margot in the bio section (Beth Curry) but nothing for Serena. I think because Beth u/s for Brooke (a main part) they just added all the other minor roles she goes on for as well. Maybe ensemble members and swings are still learning the role and the final u/s's are not determined, or maybe there are numerous cast members who are prepared for the role that it's not worth listing all possibilities. I wish I had a better (or accurate) answer than simple assumptions.
On a side note: Serena, Pilar, and Margot are all outstanding adn should all be very proud of themselves. They are hot, a hoot, and everybody loves them. [[Greek chorus = very clever and consistently funny]]

Just wanted to post this and figured this was a good place to put it...
They finally changed the ending of "Ireland." My friends went last nigth and said that Orfeh finally gets to sing out at the end. I am really glad. "Ireland" may not be my favorite song, but Orfeh is an amazing singer and she could make the phone book sound good, so I am happy she has a bigger and better chance to shine.

I would say it runs at about 2:20, maybe 2:25 depending on the changes they made over their two day break.

The new ending for Ireland is hot -- the end note is crazy. I don't know why it took four months, but WOW. It's awesome that Orfeh's finally got the ending that she deserves. It's so much more satisfying now that the momentum she builds up during that song doesn't just fall flat. Has anyone else seen it? I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about it...

So glad for her. Maybe they were just deciding if it was good to put it in. That is what previews are for.

It took that long because there were a million other little things that had to be fixed first -- but I'm SO glad to hear the new ending is finally in! YAY! An excuse to see the show again!
