Well, I figured it was bound to be started sooner or later and this will be a good place to discuss reviews regardless. The other thread was kind of growing and straying from the topic, so let's bring our discussion over here, shall we?

I enjoyed the show and everyone in the audience seemed to be having a rocking good time. I laughed a lot and the music is kick! Laura Bell Bundy runs circles on that stage. Props to Andy Karl, Orfeh, Christian Borle and the whole sorority squad. Dogs were cute too. I see it having a healthy and fun run in New York.
The Palace Theatre stage-door is going to give the Gershwin a run for its money... this has teen-girl fan-base written all over it.
Opening Night attendance (the ones that I saw):

What I hate about the Titanic referrence (besides it's been done) is that they tell you in the OPENING NUMBER that neither Elle nor Warner die in the musical! Where's the suspense? Talk about a spoiler!
"I feel just like the Titanic. I'm always going down, down, dooooown." -Dreamgirls
Can't wait to read the reviews. I hate the suspense!
Is it weird that I'm crazy happy Eugene liked it? That's one good review, at least! I wish I had been there opening night, it sounds fantastic. I'm kind of rooting for this show as the underdog (for now), and I didn't even love it! But I'm going again on Tuesday, so excited!
"For example, if I should paint my fingernails green -
and it just so happens I do paint them green. Well, if anyone should ask me why, I say: 'I think it's pretty!'"
Just FYI, even though that review is showing up on the SJ Mercury News site it is the review from Pat Craig of the Contra Costa Times. Karen D' Souza is the theatre critic for the Mercury News and her review has yet to be published. Contra Costa Times - Pat Craig (same review)
One thing I'm really looking foward to with this show is the cast recording. Even if I never get up to NY to see the show, I'm loving what I've been hearing about the score.
"Gay? or European?"
I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!
Broadway.com's Stage Notes blog has photos from the after party and a video from last night's curtain call. It was great to see, for the first time, Orfeh get her own bow last night, she switched places with Michael Rupert. http://www.broadway.com/gen/general.aspx?ci=536203
