Ah, I adore her lips! Beautiful.
And just restating in case anyone missed further up where I or Chica posted...I did get an email from Patti this weekend saying she renewed her contract until Thanksgiving.

I'm glad we pulled you out of lurking, evilNpunk! The more sharing the Patti love, the merrier! Her lips are incredible! I wish I had her mouth. It's so expressive!
Crimson, that is great news! Thanks for sharing. Now I'll have plenty of time to see it some more, so long as it doesn't close before then.

Shush! I don't even want to think about Sweeney closing!
I was telling a co-worker today that he needed to get the sheet music for Evita. He was like, "uhhh, no." And I whined, "Buuuuut I want to be Evita!!". haha. Man, I've been singing a little too much "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", "Buenos Aires", and "Rainbow High"!! Plus the fact that I CAN'T sing, but dang it I want to be Evita. ^.^

I know! I completely agree, but I forced myself to accept the inevitable the day of the Tony Awards. Not that I'm thinking they're closing soon, but all shows close someday. I decided that night to face the harsh reality. LoL.

Yes, sadly the closing is inevitable. :/ But atleast the show's made all its money back. Anyway, I cannot image a Sweeney with a different cast, so while I'm not thrilled about it closing, I'd rather it close with the OBC, ya know?
Heh. I've been talking about Patti so much at work, lately. I made some Patti picture discs for a couple of friends.

You know, speaking of Patti at work... I work in an office of technicians who go in and out all day, so sometimes I'm there by myself and bored out of my skull. Well, the radio in my office was broken so I decided to unplug the wire from the main radio (which controls the music people listen to when they're on hold) and listen to the wall speakers.
I decided I wanted a little Sweeney that day, and I forgot to take the disc out before I left. I did, however, remember to plug the "on hold music" back in. For three weeks, people were listening to the Sweeney recording playing on a loop and said nothing. I guess they like it because no one who called ever said a thing. If they don't like something, they complain like you wouldn't believe!!
The only reason I ever knew was because one of the customers called and was like what are you listening to on hold? That woman has a wonderful voice. I checked for her and it was playing "By the Sea."

I would worship the lips if I were the type to worship body parts.
Instead, I will just admire them from afar. (Very far, I think. Since we have lawn tickets for one of the Ravinia shows and I'm not sure how well I'll be able to see.)

Posted: 6/20/06 at 4:57pmI'm getting my Sweeney Todd tattoo tomorrow. It won't be complete, yet, because my secret artist hasn't gotten back to me with additional illustrations. But I will post photos.

Posted: 6/20/06 at 6:19pmWell, I don't think I'll be going through with the Sweeney tattoo after all. Like I said, I only have the core image, and it doesn't look right without anything around it. I'm just not sure. ... Who knows. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. I'm kind of bummed, since I was looking forward to it. But it is permanent. ...

Posted: 6/20/06 at 7:08pmGah, I don't knoooow. I just know how much theatre means to me, especially Patti, and Sweeney Todd. And I love the image I want to get, but if I can't get anything else with it, I can just get it smaller somewhere else. ??? Aaah.

cherrymn, I know when I get my tatoos, I generally have an idea of what I want but I can always count on the artist to change it or add to it - find a way to make my crappy idea look good, basically. Maybe you could go ask them for their advice?
General Question: I'm going movie shopping tommorrow and I want some Patti flicks. What is your favorite Patti movie role?

Summer of Sam
Patti needs to STAR in a movie. She's cute in Just Looking. I bought State and Main because she was in it. Horrible movie! I didn't even make it through the whole thing. She's barely in it. I need to rewatch Driving Miss Daisy. Anyone know how big her role is? City By the Sea (i think?) is good, but again, we need more Patti!

Not a big role in Driving Miss Daisy. The whole movie revolves around Miss Daisy and Hoke. Patti's southern accent is amusing though. :)
I say get the first season of Life Goes On. Wonderful show, all around!

Can't go wrong with "Life Goes On"!! I don't remember which episode specifically, but she sang "Broadway Baby", and I screamed my little head off. Does anyone know if she's even recorded it?
My tattoo was/is? going to be a sort of cartoon of Todd & Lovett.

Posted: 6/21/06 at 8:01pmI'm afraid to watch Summer of Sam because I don't think I could handle seeing Patti nekkid. It's like accidentally seeing your favorite aunt step out of the shower.

Posted: 6/21/06 at 8:23pmHeh. Yeah, it's like "oooh, I shouldn't look...but I HAVE tooooo". haha. I found out about that scene, and I dug around and found my video cassette of the movie. My jaw dropped, and I think I may have even turned my head for a second. Once again, it's like "nooooo.....", then it turns into "niiiiice". hahaha. But that's just me. Sometimes I think I'm a little too obsessed.
