He does not suit Danny at all, IMO. He's way to shrimpy to be the leader.

Posted: 6/15/08 at 9:17pmHonestly, The Grease preformance I thought was pretty good, just because its Grease and everyone has a bias towards it, They did a great job with what they were given.

And the award for most tickets sold following a Tony performance goes toooo
GREASE

Posted: 6/15/08 at 9:19pmspider that performance couldn't hold a candle to my rival high school's production of Grease!

Frogs.... I am with Jordan on this one.. I am not a fan of rap/hip-hop, but "ITH" is much more than that.
Especially, if you go in with an open mind. There are a number of great ballads as well, not to mention "Paciencia y Fe", which can blast the roof off the theatre.

Laura Benanti always reminds me of Valerie Mahaffey!
Her speech was so sweet & heartfelt! I'm so happy for her! She was a shoo-in, one of the few contests I felt was no contest tonight.
Her husband, he's associated with musicals, right? Isn't he a music or lyric writer?? He looks familiar to me.

Actually GREASE showed one of its best number..the stage does not include Max & Laura...I was about to comment on their performance but i promised to be positive!
I thought Ryan Binder (grease' doody) is so cute!
Is it just me or the site is sloooooooowwwww... There must be 500 posters viewing this at the same time!

Posted: 6/15/08 at 9:22pmI love seeing people who haven't been on Broadway in a while like ANGELA CHRISTIAN in the crowd! She's awesome...I'm guessing she has a "thing" with the Director I believe of In the Heights!?

Agreed. "Breathe" and "Alabanza" are my two favorites probably.
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
re: The 62nd Tony Awards Megathread#896
Posted: 6/15/08 at 9:22pmI think it's because the show is high schoolish. It's like having a revival of Annie on Broadway. At this point, you can't see it as anything but an amateur show.

Cruel to be kind, in the right measure.
Almost unanimously, the Grease performance was awkward, off key and no where near the caliber of the other showcased musicals.
