I just wanted to point out something I noticed that I hadn't seen talked about on the board yet.
I saw the SF tryout of A Chorus Line 8 times.
the first time, with the entire cast.
The next 7!!!! Mike Cannon was on for Paul McGill's Mark.
(and, many of my friends who went to other performances, noticed Mark was out too...meaning he missed much more than 7)
I was in NYC the other week and walked by Chorus Line everyday I was there...He was out every time I walked by.
Has he been replaced? What's going on with him? I'm sure hes a fine performer, but if you're issing the show THAT much clearly you don't have the physical stamina to perform the role.
Just an observation...take it or leave it. I know people miss shows, and that's their right...but wow...it seems like a lot.
I'm not sure what'd going on with him, but he's probably really sick or something.

Is a 2nd thread really necessary?

The one about Charlotte being out has turned into the general absence thread.

I believe he had sustained an injury in San Fran according to a poster in another ACL thread somewhere...possibly he's having problems again...

If that's true about the injury...
at this point, wouldnt they look into replacing him? I mean, it sucks that hes inured...but if hes missing THIS much...for so long (SF was back in July/Aug...it's almost November!)...
I'm sure there are millions of chorus boys who would love to play the role...and show up for it sometimes.
I don't think that he's been out since July/August. I'm pretty sure he's been back since then. Besides, Equity contracts give you time to heal from injury. If it looks like he'll need a Medical Leave of Absence, then they might hire a temporary replacement.
More importantly, if he is injured, I hope he heals soon. It's tough to be injured and to miss...especially when everything's so new and abuzz. I hope he feels better soon.
Was he there opening night? What song or part does Mark do? Maybe he reinjured himself. Having worked at ABT, there were seasons that a particular dancer was out the entire time, due to injury. Injuries happen. If that is the case, hopefully he gets better soon.

he has been on recently.. i didn't see his role on the understudy board the other day
This reminds me of the fact that in the original ACL cast of 1975, I think the guy who originated Don, maybe Al was originally the understudy and then got bumped due to inhury.

Well, all I know is that he was in tonight and was in when I saw the show a month ago.
When I saw the show last Thursday(10/12), he was in. When he came out of the stage door his knee was wrapped in a bandage with ice. Supposedly he injured his knee while doing the show in San Francisco and hasn't healed yet. I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't heal in a month or so they might replace him permanently with Mike Cannon. Jeff Schecter(Mike) also injured his ankle while in San Fran. but supposedly he's only missed a few shows.
he was in both times i saw the show. can't i person miss a show if they are injuried.

Wow! I just remembered... I met him and his mother when my sister auditioned for Boston Conservatory. Good for him, but I wonder why he's not showing up.

the poor boy has a banged up knee!
and please.. NO ONE dare say that "he doesn't have anything hard to do". I don't care who you are, but doing any show 8 times a week is a KILLER.. and this is a DANCE show. Regardless of what he may or may not do onstage, it is SO easy to hurt yourself on even the simplest steps.. it happens ALL the time. Leave the boy alone and let him get better.

Oh I did not know he was hurt!
I feel sorry for him then!
I just thought he was pulling a Lachanze/Donna Murphy

You're just automatically ****whipped by any twink with a dancebelt. If you were anymore transparent you could have a featured role in Chicago.

did you ever know that you're my hero?

You read enough of this stuff for enough years and the trends become incredibly predictable.
FYI- Pulling a La chanze or donna Murphy- both were ill, not bored.
