Talked to Lin, Andrea, Janet, and Nina at the [title of show] party tonight. Lin was definitely having a good time, if you knwo what I'm saying. Was really great to see them all out having fun.

We can add one more to the LOVES IT!!! number! :) After much deliberation over what to do about my dad and me on Sunday, I as previously reported asked him to trust me and bought tickets to ITH. So we went and the verdict is he absolutely loved it! He kept saying "I would never have bought tickets on my own for this, but it is amazing." Actually, I think he liked it BETTER than Gypsy! I, of course, loved it even more. Even seeing Krista as Nina. It was a different take than Mandy's, but I did enjoy it.

And truly there was a cross-section of people there in all aspects. The at least 70-something man next to me was bopping along with everyone else and loving it as was the probably 8 or s year old girl in the center orchestra section. Truly an appeal to all ages! :)

I have family/friends visiting towards the end of August, and so we're of course going to see Heights :), and so I was at the box office earlier today, and I had to run thru *three* different date/time possibilities before we found a performance that still had $41.50 seats left. For a time period over six weeks from now! Love it.

jordangirl- love the story about your dad! Converting people one dad at a time. :)

eta: so according to broadwayunderstudies Blanca will be Abuela all week during Olga's vacation (actually technically it says Tuesday, July 22nd - Thursday, July 29th, so I'm not sure what that "Thursday, July 29th" typo is supposed to be, but I'm guessing it means all week?) Which would then mean Doreen as Daniela all week too, I think...

Oooh- unless the "Thursday, July 29th" is supposed to be Thurs July 24th, in which case they'd be switching off for the weekend? <- i would prefer that, in case anyone's taking notes. :)

UM, can Becky and Michael duet? I love them. Also, aw Kyle Dean and Kate. Kinda odd that they list Jen Foote as being from DRS when she is in ACL currently.

Just came back form tonight's show.
Andrea was there to my surprise. I was looking forward to seeing Doreen as Daniela, but you can't be disappointed, Andrea lights up the stage!

Josh Henry was amazing as Benny. I think he has a better singing voice, and made more genuine acting choices than Chris, while Chris is a better rapper.

Blanca Camacho was good as Abuela. Her voice was good, but nowhere close to Olga's (especially the beginning of Paciencia y Fe). Olga also has this sweetness to her that I didn't see in Blanca. Overall, I was pleased with her performance but wasn't blown away. She can only get better with more time. The crowd loved her, and she was definitely comfortable in the role. One thing that bothered me (not her fault at all) was her wig. It seemed to big for her, almost like a helmet. She has a smaller head I guess than Abuela so it looked odd, almost like it was weighing her down! She's also listed in the playbill as Abuela, not as an understudy so the board only has Benny up.

Overall, great show, high energy, one of the best I have seen. I love seeing understudies!

I can't say enough how much I enjoyed Josh's Benny, and I am very happy for him about Godspell!

Yeah apparently Andrea's not on vacation this week anymore. Which I guess makes sense, to not have Blanca and Doreen both on when they're the two u/s for those roles, or whatnot. I too am so looking forward to seeing Doreen's Daniela again... but have no complaints that Andrea's not on vacay.

Just got back from the show... Chris was back, and he sounded amazing !!! I think overall, this was the best that I have heard the cast (except for Carlos Gomez, who really seemed to struggle)

Mandy sounded incredible, and so did Lin !!!

They sounded very rested. Liked Blanca alot. She doesnt do it for me physically as far as Abuela, but her voice was very good (Much better on "Hundreds Of Stories" than "Paciencia y Fe")

Crowd so into the show tonight, and another sold out house !!!

Yeah, testing, Carlos didn't sound too well on Tuesday, or the time before that, or the time before that... he sounds perfect on the CD though! That man needs a break to completely rejuvenate himself.
