Hopefully Autumn is the standby for Elle if she doesn't win.
Strangely enough, Elle doesn't, and never had, a full-time standby. Becky Gulsvig was the first cover for Elle, but she had an ensemble track (and also covered Margot and Serena). The second Elle u/s is usually the actress playing Margot (Annaleigh Ashford, Haven Burton, Kate Rockwell).
If the rumor in this thread is true, Lauren is going on tour into Becky's track (making her the first cover for Elle, and two of the Delta Nus). Rhiannon is going to be Margot and the second Elle cover on the tour. The runner-up gets Becky's track in the Broadway company (my hunch is that's going to be Autumn, based on the leaked audio), and the winner gets Elle Woods (all signs seems to be pointing to Bailey at this point).
I really want Autumn to win so badly. I just don't like Baily...I don't think she could play the part with much depth as Autumn could or Rhiannon even though she cant sing.
"I think lying to children is really important, it sets them off on the right track" -Sherie Rene Scott-
"But now I'm looking forward to Kate Rockwell's interpretation."
Kate Rockwell would've been an amazing full time Elle. It's too bad they had to do this whole reality show(even though it is entertaining). Updated On: 7/15/08 at 03:33 PM
I can't believe how many people on this message board are saying that they don't like Bailey and don't think she would make a good Elle. From the very beginning of the show I thought Bailey has stood out- not only does she have the looks, but she has the energy, the personality, the star appeal, acting, singing, and dancing capabilities!
Every week I have gone and watched the full performances for all of the girls, and Bailey has always done a great job in my opinion. With the other girls, I felt like I was watching an audition, but with her, I felt like I was watching a performance. There just always seemed to be something off about the other girls, but I think that Bailey is so talented that each time she did an audition she made it look like she was a pro and had been doing it for years!
If you haven't already seen the full performances, go to mtv.com and watch them....I think they give a way better insight to who is cut out to be Elle and who's not.
I'm sorry but in my opinion, Autumn has had a lot of bad auditions. I agree that she has a broadway voice, but she does not have the dancing, charm, or look to be Elle Woods on Broadway. I really hope that Bailey is the winner because I think she will make a great Elle and I can't wait to go see the performance!!!

Then why can't she show any sort of emotion? It requires a bit more than simply furrowing her brow. Autumn, Lauren, even Emma, made me really feel for the character. Bailey is seriously lacking this ability. Maybe she'll aquire it, maybe she won't, but I refuse to waste my money on her. I'd rather go to the tour and have just a chance of seeing Lauren, then to pay for the certainty of Bailey.
Just watched the full performances from last night. Anyone else notice that Autumn was the only one who thanked the quick change dresser? I thought that was so classy.
"It wasn't those comments that bothered me so much, though. It was Autumn's sudden sense of entitlement to win, because she was 28 and seemingly deserved it more because she was 28. It was as if she felt that because she was 28 and the other girls weren't yet 20, that automatically meant that she deserved the role more."
And as far as Autumn thinking she is 'entitled' to the role because she is older...um didn't Bailey herself say she was born for the role therefore SHE is entitled to it.. as did Lauren. I'm sure they all feel that they are entitled to it, Autumn just stated it rather bluntly, which is what I like about her. :)

*Bailey said "thank you, sir" when the quick change dresser gave her the hat...fyi.

I'm sorry, but I just think it's hilarious how everyone doesn't want Autumn to win because of her "sense of entitlement." Come on! You're basing this off of something said on a reality show that probably had all sorts of editing. And I also thought the "Damnit, I earned it!" comment was just a joke edited to make her sound catty.

*I disagree...that is the ONLY form of criticism the judges have given her and it's only been two times that they have said this. To me that criticism is just something they had to say to her because they want to push everyone and not make anyone feel like they are absolutely perfect, plus it IS a tv show, so they have to make it look like there is a slight chance that she could go home too. The other girls received way worse, criticisms that have way more merit on whether or not someone will be a good broadway star: i.e. Rhiannon: her voice is not good, Autumn: the judges said she "made them nervous" at times, and she clearly can't master a tap number to save her life. Lauren, i think did a really good job last night, and they should not have cut her. I think it should have come down to her and Bailey.
But as for all this "Bailey lacks depth and emotion" crap, I think you guys are being way to harsh on that aspect. I don't think it looks like she "lacks emotion". I will be honest, in the "Legally Blonde" performance, she should have acted a bit more devastated, but that's something that you can easily say, "hey, next time, be a little more sad."
Did anyone else besides me notice that at the end of last night's show they said, "And next week on the SEASON finale..."? They should have said SERIES. Unless MTV is doing this again.
