Sad to see it go.It deserved better. At least we have a cast album
Hope to see Chita on the boards soon.
They posted it on their Facebook page too.
"[THE VISIT] has all the joy and ferocity we expect from Kander & Ebb!" -Lin-Manuel Miranda
There are only a few more chances to see Chita Rivera on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre before our final performance Sunday, June 14 at 3 pm.
The shows I love always close early.

Best wishes to Chits and Kandle & Ebb! Many successes in future shows!
Sad news, but I am happy that the recording will be coming out. Hopefully the show has a life in regional theaters. If you haven't seen THE VISIT yet, GO! It's wonderful.
So sad that it will be gone, but it was great while it lasted.

Maybe it will stand the test of time and end up proving it has value. But we may never know in our lifetimes.
Seriously. Are you just planning on responding to everything I say with that? Does that do something for you?
And maybe not in your lifetime, but I certainly plan on being here 50 years from now.

I dunno, Namo. There are enough long in the tooth divas out there who can play this role. I'm sure Betty Buckley is already making some phone calls.
It's always sad when a show of such great quality closes. At least it will be preserved on the cast recording and hopefully someone (legally or illegally) filmed it so that some beautiful performances can still be viewed after its closing.

Oooh! I likey!
Are you just planning on responding to everything I say with that?
Nonsense. I'm planning on responding to everything everybody says with that.
no surprise. Just a shame that Donna likely won't get to perform.

Donna gets London. That's what I hear. It may stand the test of time over there.
It sounds like it would be perfect for a Great Performances on PBS.
As much as I loved the music and evertything, the scene they put on the TONYS made no sense to the others in my house who love theater but are not obsessed like I am.
It is as hard a sell as Sideshow was .
Some shows, no matter how good they are, do not appeal to the vast majority of theatergoers. It is a shame but unfortunately it is what it is
Glad we saw it and hopefully it was not the end of Chita on Broadway. If it is, she went out in style in a K/E musical & with a Tony nomination. A win would have been icing on the cake but would not have been enough to ultimately save it.
Might it have worked when it was originally envisioned with Angela Lansbury. We will never know but interesting to ponder.

Such a shame. Excellent show. I'm sure we'll see a revival in 20-30 years.
Sad but I'm ok with this. It was great to have it on Broadway even for a short time. I'm used to enjoying and supporting the shows that don't last long. At least we have the cast recording coming out this month. Judging by some samples, it sounds absolutely lovely.
Not really a surprise, but still sad to see it leave. If you're unsure about seeing it, go!
It was worth the trip from Australia to see it, a haunting piece of theatre
