The Pillowman for best play! Not that I have seen any others but I do love The Pillowman :)
I have been wondering where the cast of Brooklyn will be placed. I think Eden would have more of a chance in the featured category. Because Ramona's part is actually abit bigger they could put her in leading so that the two would not have to compete in the same category. I really enjoyed the show. While a best musical nomination would make me very happy I am not expecting it
If Sutton did win this year she would have 2 Tony Awards before turning 30, correct? That would be pretty impressive.

"Reckless" may or may not be categorized as a revival since it played OFF-Broadway last time. But then, after some debate, they categorized "Assassins" as a revival last year, so "Reckless" will probably go that way too.

Best Musical:
Spamalot
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Little Women
All Shook Up
I think it is a draw between those first three. Exciting!
I'm rooting for Sutton again or Sherie Rene Scott.
Actor---Probably from Spamalot (Tim Curry, Frasier guy that I can't remember his name) or Norbert!
I would like to see Sutton win another Tony, but there is a lot of great talent, so have to keep my fingers and toes crossed!

I'm really pulling for a Raul win. He just deserves one!
sutton foster is so amazing that id be dissappointed if she didnt get nominated.
Eden. And Ramona.
I said this already, but people keep mentioning BROOKYLN. I really really don't see Eden or the show itself being nominated at all. I used to predict the winners and nominees to a T. Last year, I said Idina Menzel wouldn't be nominated. Then I said there's no way she deserves to win or will win. Then she won. So, hopefully this year will be better for me!

munk, i agree.
as much as i love eden, i think that if anything/ anyone from brooklyn was gonna be nominated, it'd be ramona. but i love eden, so im hoping for her!
other females- pulling for sherie rene, and sutton. both are amazing.
best revival- hoping for la cage!
new musical- it's up in the air, but im pulling for little women!
Eden will be nominated!!!
Hey kids! These are just the people I would like to see nominated...so far...
Leading Actor in a Musical - Nathan Lane, Raul Esparza, John Lithgow, Tim Curry, Tom Hewitt (Isn't that a great group of actors to have nominated together? I so hope this is Raul's year!)
Leading Actress in a Musical - Sutton Foster, Eden Espinosa (debate the size of her part, but she's made a big debut...look at this board, we're all talking about her!)
Featured Actress in a Musical - Sherie Renee Scott, Ramona Keller, Maureen McGovern, possibly Kelli O'Hara, and I'd love to see Leah Hocking nominated.
Featured Actor in a Musical - Norbert Leo Butz (not sure how to classify the size of his role in DRS.), Roger Bart, Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Sieber
Best Musical - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Frogs, Little Women, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Best Revival of a Musical - Obviously Pacific Overtures, La Cage aux Folles, and Sweet Charity. Are there other options?

ooo, i completely forgot about chitty chitty. i think that will do very well, but as stated earlier, it is wayy too early to have an idea.

isn't raul's role in chitty featured, not leading?
Eden, Ramona and Brooklyn!
But you never know with the Tony people..
Remember little shop last year?
ARRR
Raul is playing Caractacus Potts, which is the role played by Dick Van Dyke in the movie. Michael Ball played it in London. As far as I remember, it's leading.

A couple of things about the Tony nominating committee:
-- over the years they've often tended to totally ignore shows that were universally panned by the critics (eg Dracula, Brooklyn). Even if an individual element of the bad show was nomination-worthy, it's as if they regard it/he/she to be tainted by the surrounding mediocrity and the committee would rather give that nomination to someone in a well-received show than single out someone in a show they didn't care for.
-- the committee rarely gives nominations to closed shows (unless they need to fill out a category). Tony nominations are VERY valuable from a marketing perspective and the committee would rather give them to shows that could still use them at the box office. Giving them to closed shows is seen by many as a waste (remember the Tonys are less about honoring art, than they're about business). If Brooklyn isn't still running in May, don't expect any nominations for it.
-- the nominating committee consists of 30 theatre professionals from all aspects of the business -- actors, press agents, composers, casting execs, journalists, producers, script consultants et al. While their backgrounds and tastes certainly vary, the one thing that they all have in common is that (with extremely rare exceptions) they're all over 40 (and mostly in their 50s, 60s and 70s) -- remember that as you make your predictions about how well you think Brooklyn will do come Tony time.
I think Ramona Keller is the only thing from that show that has a chance for a nomination (even the harshest pans singled her out as a bright spot; I think Espinosa's unfortunate lack of acting skills will mean she'll be overlooked come nomination time). There are several very promising shows still to open in the next six months when the season ends -- we'll see then if Keller is still remembered at that point.

I agree 100 percent with Magic. I would LOVE to see Chris Sieber nominated.
"Frasier guy that I can't remember his name"
*gasp*
David Hyde Pierce is an acting genius.
Very well said, Margo.
I hope Little Women and Spamalot get everything! bwahahaha!
Chrysanthemum, I knew I liked you!:)

Light in the Piazza will probably grab one or two (Victoria Clark is by all accounts incredible). Also look for whoever is playing Nicky in the Sweet Charity revival to be a contender for supporting (Bebe Neuwirth won for the last revival in the 80s). La Cage will contend in the design categories and acting categories. And we'll have to see how Dirty Rotten Scoundrels comes off.
