My money's on Sutton Foster and Eden Espinosa, any other thoughts on who will be nominated for Tony awards? It is kinda early too tell though and I apologize if this has been talked about before..
I agree about Sutton and Eden.
Definitely Sutton... and if Eden is the girl from Brooklyn, then her too...
RENThead, enLIGHist, Ozalot, Grobanite, Ringer, Pickwick LW, Wicked, Lost, American Dreams, West Wing
Lea S. Hugh J. Adam P. Idina M. Matt M. Taye D.
Probably Sutton, Eden, Melissa, and for lack of other performers Christina Applegate(but I sincerly doubt she'll even get nonminated), Sara Ramirez is a question mark b/c i don't know if her character from Spamlot is main or supporing/featured
for supporting Actress- Kelly O'Hara, Linda Balgord(note never seen La Cage so I don't know what the roles are like) Ruth Williamson, and the other two females from Brooklyn
Best Musical- Spamlot, Brooklyn
Revival- La Cage, Pacfic Overtures, Sweet Charity
I'm def. pulling for Sutton... and Clevant (he's amazing)

I don't think Eden's part is big enough to be a lead actress nomination. Maybe featured though.
Really? I thought Eden's character was the lead. Hah shows how little I know.
Sherie Rene Scott in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!
Eden plays Brooklyn in BROOKLYN. SHE'S THE TITLE ROLE. How can you NOT be considered to be the lead when you're name is the title of the show?!
That's like saying Sweeney Todd isn't a big enough part to be considered for Best Leading Actor in "Sweeney Todd".

I'm pulling for Jennifer Gambatese. Sherie Rene Scott too, because I loved her in Aida. Sutton Foster will be nominated.

I'd love to see Sutton win another one so soon after Millie. I'm pulling for her.
But as far as nominations go, it's pretty difficult to say at this point.
"I'd love to see Sutton win another one so soon after Millie. I'm pulling for her."
Same! Shes so deserved the Tony she got!!
So if Sherie Rene Scott and Sutton (which Im sure she will) are nominated, Id def. want one of them to win
Is Sherie Rene a Lead or Featured performer in DRS?
Ohh!!! Sherie Rene!! I'm changing my vote...
She's too dam amazing on the L5Y CD

What about Maureen McGovern from Little Women, as well? Or is that role considered Featured rather than Lead.
oh I think Sherie Rene is a feautred..Im not sure though
and I was just thinking the same about Maureen! I mean shes great too!
ok, ok...Sutton for lead and Sherie Rene for featured...
And then ofcourse Norbert! Who I've missed terribly...
I think McGovern is featured but isn't she billed over thee title? If one is billed over the title, don't they fit into the leading category? I think that's the rule.
"And then ofcourse Norbert! Who I've missed terribly..." ME TOO
he should def. at least get a nomination..id die happy if he wins it cuz with a voice like his he so deserves it!!
Look toward the spring musicals, ladies and gentlemen. I don't think you are going to see much from the fall musical season getting nominated in May, '05.
Some of these are not my own personal favorites, just how I think some of the categories will pan out:
Musicals - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Spamalot and All Shook Up.
Actresses in a Musical - Victoria Clark, Sara Ramirez, Christina Applegate, Erin Dilly, Sherie Rene Scott. (And I've said it before, and I'll say it again...my money's on Victoria Clark to win for Light in the Piazza).
Actors in a Musical - John Lithgow, Raul Esparza, David Hyde Pierce, Norbert Leo Butz, either Daniel Davis or Gary Beach.
Revivals of a Musical - Sweet Charity, La Cage aux Folles and Pacific Overtures are the only three candidates right now.
Play - Democracy, Doubt, Pillowman, Gem of the Ocean and Brooklyn Boy or Festen (if it comes in).
Actor in a Play - Richard Thomas, Brian O'Byrne, Adam Arkin, Billy Crudup, John C. Reilly. Other possibilities: Boyd Gaines, Philip Bosco, Bill Irwin.
Actress in a Play - Jessica Lange, Natasha Richardson, Cherry Jones, Kathleen Turner, Phylicia Rashad. Other possibilities: Mary-Louise Parker, Laura Linney.
Revival of a Play - 12 Angry Men, A Streetcar Named Desire, Glass Menagerie, Reckless, Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf?
SallyBrown... I'm with you girl. I hope he and Sherie Rene both get at least nominated... they're both soooo fabulous in L5Y.
I can't believe there's Tony buzz already... it's ok, I don't mind
Maureen McGovern should not be in the "Lead actress" category since she is not one of the leads. BUT, she sould win "Featured" because she was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!! Love her!
Thank you, Magruder.
One question: Reckless is a revival? I thought for sure it was new.

Maureen isn't billed over the title anyway. Only Sutton is.
Sutton Foster
Little Women
Maureen McGovern
...that's what the theatre's marquee says.
