Yup - I've been trying both my "regular" virtual line account (I'm not senior yet!) and my husband's senior virtual line account (because he is over 65) - nada. Pray for an extension?!?
Between last summer and this summer I am currently 0/25 on virtual line.

I went last night. Got on the stand-by line at 5:30pm. We waited out in the rain for 2.5 hours and we got our tickets at exactly 8:11pm. No one in the stand-by line got tickets before 8pm last night, so plan on waiting there up until curtain time.
The show was fantastic...so glad the rain stopped just in time last night!
I'm new to the Shakespeare in the Park experience... if I wanted to get tickets for tomorrow night's (Sunday, 7/5/09) performance, would 7am be early enough to be in line? (I'm coming in from CT) or do you think it would just be better to get in the stand by line around 3pm or so? (all the while having my name in the virtual line of course!) Thanks for the info!
The only one I can think of off the top of my head was Pirates of Penzance, which was recorded in the park and also was made into a movie. Don't know if either were ever available for purchase. Snippets of both can be found on youtube. And this am am not at all certain about, but I don't think Lincoln Center does record the Delacorte shows. Far fewer shows are recorded by Lincoln Center than most people think.
I did once see an old Midsummer Night's Dream with Christine Baranski as Helen, probably a PBS taping? Which would mean it would have to be available somewhere...
Saw the show last night, and like everyone has posted on this thread already it is amazing. The whole cast is really amazing, and I definitely recommend catching it before Sunday if you can.
An extension SEEMS out of the question? Given that their last show is in under 24 hours and I doubt they're going to spring some kind of surprise special announcement at tomorrow's show, I'd say it's more like "completely done deal."
I'd love for it to be filmed, but other than the off-chance that Lincoln Center taped it, that's also a no. Although even if the LC archives had it, that's so restricted that it'd be a pretty moot point anyway, since you'd only be able to watch it once ever.
I've really come to love it much, much more than I thought I would. It's been great having it here for these few weeks, but it's definitely over way too soon. I wasn't crazy about it in the beginning, but it's become rather magical. I'm going to miss it, but I'm so grateful I've been able to see it a few times.
Boy, emcee - I post a wistful little comment, and I get read the riot act over it? You saw this production four times - some of us weren't that lucky and wish we might have.
That was hardly the riot act. I was simply struck by, well, the wistfulness OF the comment, and how exactly, at this point, that could "seem" unlikely. Nails go in that coffin at 11:10 tonight. I guess an explanation that you don't like is a "riot act."
I know how lucky I am, thanks. And I've only been sure to voice that about eleven times, because I know it's important to acknowledge. I'm sorry you weren't able to make it, but that's really no reason to be snippy at someone who could just out of that bitterness, and has hardly taken that for granted.
But perhaps I should have not used the resources at hand, and forgone the opportunities I had, so as not to have taken them away from others. For the record, since apparently there needs to be one, I have several times given away my tickets to friends who had not yet seen the show, or waited in line when they couldn't -- so I really don't appreciate the insinuation of selfishness in the other thread.
That's a riot act. I reserve them for when someone feels the need to make it personal.
A (crazy) friend skipped my party last night to wait in line for tickets, so he brought me as his plus-one. He got pizza from Anne and the gang as well, which made me super jealous.
The production has only improved since I saw it early in previews. It felt tighter, and the one potential weak link for me (Julie White) reeeeally grew into the role. I thought she was only so-so the first time around, but she had me in stitches the entire time. I laughed so hard at the scene where they confront Malvolio about being "possessed" that I cried. Perfect weather for the last night of a really great production.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the CD is now on sale at the Delacorte for $10! HEM's Facebook page says it includes two songs that were not heard in the production.
