Are there any other plays/musicals going on that you're aware of 5/16-23? I decided to pass on the Come from Away at Ogunquit. I may see Ragtime at Goodspeed on the way back depending on casting but will probably pass since it's coming to LCT.

Will Sam and Dujonna reprise their roles?"
Any updated casting rumors? Since we saw an understudy for Robin - and she was passable but not engaging to us - it seems to us that this piece is really dependent on the cast. Tutty just dominated when we saw it.

One day longer (May 24) and you could catch the first performance of the new Maltby and Shire review at Goodspeed’s Norma Terri’s theater.

Fingers crossed that we get the original cast, but I’m especially hopeful for Tutty.

Fascinated to see how this goes down at A.R.T. I was in the minority in London as I just found this show a bit ordinary. Not bad but not particularly distinguished and slightly overlong. I actually enjoyed Dujonna Gift more than Sam Tutty (I find a little of his winsome puppy dog shtick goes a long way for me, though he does have a lovely voice) but to be fair there are countless young American actresses who can deliver what she does. Should this make it to NYC, this definitely feels to me more like an off-Broadway show rather than one for the main stem.

ART has announced casting - Sam Tutty will reprise his role, and Christianni Pitts will play Robin.

I quite like Pitts, but I feel like the show loses half of its heart without Dujonna.

I was pretty sure they would replace Dujonna Gift.

I do hope this transfers down to NY (unfortunately I can’t make it up to Boston during the A.R.T. run) and Sam comes with it. Would be a nice holiday treat.

Really happy with this announcement. I was expecting Sam Tutty to transfer with the show and for someone else (an American actress) to take on the role of Robin. So this is about what I was expecting. I only saw it once in London, but I got tickets to 3 performances at A.R.T. Can't wait.

I am so excited for this!! This was my favourite new musical last year and was really hoping it would be brought across!! And so happy that Sam is reprising the role, sad about Dujonna but we'll see what it's like. Booking tickets straight away!

I believe this to be so as we saw it with Dujonna’s understudy who couldnt keep up with Tutty and there was not as much magic as we expected. Pitts has more experience so this might be an effective pairing

If the production transfers to Manhattan, it would be a nice fit for the Daryl Roth theater once Titanique exits (though they may try for a smaller Broadway house).
anyone here got the chance to see the show? having read this thread - and the reviews out of London - I really am looking forward to this one.
To those that have gone to see it at ART, where do you recommend for seating? Sounds like an intimate show so imagine that front section is best (even though those seats are less expensive?!)
I saw Two Strangers last night at ART and will wager that this terrific show will land on Broadway soon…hopefully for the holidays this year. I can definitely see this at the Music Box or Booth. The first and foremost reason you need to see this is to experience the mega star wattage of Sam Tutty. He simply oozes charisma. My companion literally said I don’t know if I want to marry him or adopt him. So that should give you an idea of the vibe. He kicks off the show with the catchy tune New York which could give Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind a run for its money. I thought that the score was strong and there are many songs that I’ll have on repeat.
I loved Christianni Pitts and found her to have super chemistry with Sam, a great voice and excellent comedic timing. For a second preview, this was in terrific shape.
I am a native New Yorker so it is hard not to love all the New York love in this show. Christianni sings This is the Place about her Flatbush memories and it made me reminisce about my several Brooklyn apartments and spending so much time at the Grand Army Plaza library. I also really loved her What’ll it Be. There are also many movie references which made me feel right at home. I’d give it a 90/100. Highly recommended.

I sat in EE 13 which was perfect. I think the first two rows would be a disadvantage. The stage is a bit high and the actors climb further up on the set so you might miss some action from the first two rows.

Best piece I saw in London last summer. Sam is a major star. Let’s hope it comes “home” to NYC, where it belongs.

So happy to hear such positive feedback!
I really hope this transfers in for the new season - it’d be great to see around the holidays.

Yay for Sam. I saw this in the tiny Kiln in North London and it (and Sam) had charm to spare! I'm glad it's West End and American productions live up to what I saw and a Broadway transfer will do the same.
I'm going on Sunday, I'm sitting in the first row after the break. Will report back!
That being said, there really aren't any bad seats at the ART. I think it has under 600 seats. That being said, I've never sat on either extreme side, but pretty much everywhere else, front rows, near back rows.
I adored Christiani Pitts in King Kong (what an experience THAT was) and was just wondering what she’s been up to - excited to see her in another show. Especially one that sounds a bit more promising.

I mean she’s wonderful!
On the train coming home from the ART.
The show is stinkin' adorable. Lots of laughs, a few surprises, and lots of heart. Really enjoyed this.
This could have a lovely off Bway run, but would worry about it in Bway.
Didn't care for the set too much, it looks cool, but I quickly got bored with turntable use.
Seating....seeing how the show is staged, I would avoid the first few rows, the deck is decently high . I wouldn't worry about sitting on the extreme sides, you are ont have any problems seeing.

Saw it tonight also. Yes, it's definitely got cute, rom-com movie vibes, but Maybe Happy Ending this ain't.
The good; the actors and staging. Completely disagree with the previous poster. Set was perfect.
The bad: One important event in the story makes zero sense. I don't feel like adding the spoiler box, but it completely changes how the audience should feel about the character, and not in a good way.
The music. I'm sorry, but I have zero recollection of any of the songs. I'd say at least half of them are sung/spoken, with barely to any melody or rhythm.
This show has zero chance of making in on Broadway. It's a shame that ART did not bring in the true piece of art, Passing Strange instead.
