Just listened to the album. I'm impressed at how much character is able to come through. It's no Last Five Years but they're more distinct than your generic "boy meets girl" story. Sam's got the showier role. He's full of musical theater joy. When he sinks he's got some specific things to be sad about. Dujonna on the other hand is stuck singing mopey songs about generic quarter life crisis problems. There's nothing unique about working a service job in your 20's and struggling with depression.

Someone on Reddit says they say a sign for auditions for this at Ripley Grier studios.

I do hope that they can get Sam Tutty to come over for this, even if only for a limited run.

If indeed this is playing A.R.T. before New York, I hope it’s early enough in the season so that it lands here around the holidays. It has a kind of holiday rom-com vibe.

Well, not her as much. In fact, in energy and basic skill, she came up short against Tully, who I had seen in the West End Evan Hansen and was not initially excited by. But he is tremendous in this small musical. Funny and sweet and engaging and full of star quality un-indicated in Hansen.

Opens May 30
Several producers with prominent Broadway experience, most notably Kevin McCollum, have just joined the team for this show's North American life.
This replaces PASSING STRANGE at American Rep, and since it all came together pretty last-minute, the assumption is that Sam and Dujonna are both coming over with their understudies.
I could see this fitting well potentially at the Booth, Jones, or Music Box later this year, depending on how things play out.

Kevin was also a co-producer on the West End run of this, and I'm assuming he has the US option on the piece.

Wow, this is happy news! I do hope this will transfer down from Boston. Not sure it would fill a Broadway house, but I think it’d do wonderfully in a respectfully sized OB theater (maybe the Union Square)?

Sorry - meant the Daryl Roth (presuming Titanique eventually vacates). It’s been a long week (and it’s only Thursday)

Tutty is (currently) scheduled to be part of a one night concert of Drew Gasparini’s “We Aren’t Kids Anymore” in London on April 28.
I suppose it’s logistically possible for him to do both: however, “Two Strangers” performances begin in Boston on May 20.

PASSING STRANGE was cancelled back in February quite suddenly with no explanation to the cast/creatives, let alone the public. It was up on the site forever after but sales were inactive. I loved this in London and found it very cute, but Im truly curious as to how the lauded PS revival capitulated after it had already been cast (but not announced aside from Giles Terera).
As for Broadway, this played the Criterion in London which is less than 600 seats. The set is very spare (mostly a giant turntable with multipurpose pieces of luggage and so any theatre larger than the Booth will swallow this show up. This show would be a good fit for a subscription house like the Hayes, Haimes, or Friedman.

Perhaps just coincidence, but Dujonna’s recent IG posts clearly indicate that she’s in NYC.

Any rumors on the A.R.T. casting?
Will Sam and Dujonna reprise their roles?

Can't see "John Proctor" lasting past September, so maybe this goes to the Booth in the Fall?

Yes. I'm speculating that if it does well or gets excellent word of mouth they could extend through the Summer. But even if they were to do that, I don't see it extending through the Fall.
To be quite honest, I don’t see that happening barring a miracle. The two buzziest plays right now are Oh Mary and (after last nights reviews) Purpose, to say nothing of the slate of star driven shows.
I’m honestly surprised JPITV is getting any oxygen at all. If anything, I foresee a “For Colored Girls” situation where it might endear to critics, but be a poor seller closing earlier than planned.

I’m assuming she is already stateside as she has a smaller supporting role in Snow White. Unlike other weirdly nitpicky naysayers on this board, I think Dujonna’s performance is the heart of Two Strangers…and it would be at a major loss without her or Sam.
