I know nothing of the stage version.  How has this been received?  Is it worth going ?  The tour is coming to town .

I see it in LA next month. I hope it's good.

The Broadway show was amazing. If the tour is like the Broadway version it is definitely worth seeing.

This was a must-see in NYC after I saw it in London. It’s excellent and visually stunning. The staging is really impressive but would be seemingly difficult to tour with the original set. Hopefully the tour captures all of the same magic, because it is really beautiful.

highly highly recommend sitting in mezz, even if you're usually an orchestra sitter.  If it's like Broadway they'll have floor projections you would want to be able to see to get the full experience.

Saw it on Broadway and really enjoyed it. I found the first act to be a bit slow but loved Act II. It is beautiful to look at also. The tour just left Denver and friends that went said they loved it.

Toronto got a stop of the UK tour this past fall, although not the same cast, I can say this was the subscription show I was least excited for, and was blown away by the staging and the puppetry. I highly recommend the show.

Im really curious how the tour looks, since the stage required a few traps. All the photos on the website are from the Broadway production.

Just saw this show in LA. A few understudies were on, including Pi (who was played by the male understudy). Surprisingly, the staging wasn’t an issue at all with this tour. A few small (and disappointing, but understandable) technical changes like the boat not rising from the stage and I recall Pi jumping into the stage a few times and reappearing in various places. It makes sense why they’d change that to tour, of course.

Does the actor that plays Pi not usually speak with an Indian accent? I recall that being a part of what gives Pi’s character a certain cadence and charm that I don’t feel was there without it. The understudy this evening had no accent and it just felt strangely off, but I couldn’t be sure.

Overall I still think there was a lot of good there, but the performances seemed a bit inconsistent.

On Broadway, the actors were directed to speak in their normal accent (with the exception of the French Chef), so it's not a surprise they aren't using accents here either.

Okay THANKS! I found it unfortunately off-putting. Couldn’t remember it as much from Broadway, but my recollection of the show in London was truly a feast in story-telling. Still a beautiful show, though.

Saw the show last weekend, and really, really enjoyed it.  In all my many trips to NYC each year, I never saw it.

Taha Mandviwala gives an extraordinary performance, and so much of it is physical.  Jumping, leaping, rolling on the floor, in the boat, and with the animals.

I didn’t realize that he doesn’t perform every show and got his understudy. I was definitely missing the springy, playful element of the character.
