So the next slew of actors has been announced in the last few weeks/day for Waitress, and is anyone else really excited? I think I've seen people wanting Alison Luff to play Jenna, so I'm thrilled about that casting and hoping to see her; I'm super excited for Colleen Ballenger to finally make her Broadway debut; I'm very curious about what Todrick Hall will bring to the role of Ogie and refuse to judge him until I see him and for now will just be very excited; Mark Evans is new, and I'm so excited for him! Anyone else share my excitement?
I absolutely love Alison Luff, I think she will be perfect for Jenna. She’s originally from Texas I believe, so she’ll have a nice southern accent! I’m really excited for Colleen, a bit skeptical for Todrick but I hope to be pleasantly surprised by him. He is really talented.
I really liked Mark Evans in Mormon and The Play That Goes Wrong. I'm sure he'll be great!

Except Waitress takes place in the Midwest and not Texas. Alison doesn't speak with a southern accent to begin with either.

Snippy, snippy, snippy. You really need to relax. They’re directed to speak with a southern accent... if you couldn’t tell. And yeah, she doesn’t, and I don’t recall ever saying she spoke in a southern accent but go off! I’ve heard some southern twangs when she speaks.

I'm am relaxed...lol. If you say so. Guess you're a Waitress expert since you know how they are directed to speak. You said she will have a nice southern accent since she is from Texas to which I replied she doesn't speak with an accent. Whatever though. You do you.
I know it’s a bit off topic, but I’m intrigued about who will be in the non-equity tour. Wonder how young they’ll end up casting Old Joe

I’m wondering about casting too! I’m also wondering why they made this tour non-equity, what’s going to change, etc.

What I wouldn’t give to be even an understudy on the non-eq tour....THE DREAM!!!
I'm excited to read reports about Allison Luff and Colleen Ballenger but Todrick Hall really puts me off from seeing it again. Not a big fan of him personally and I can't imagine he'd do the role any justice after having seen the show with Jeremy Morse and Christopher Fitzgerald.

They may need to get a name. I’m at the matinee and this place is a ghost town. The side orchestra sections are half to three quarters empty
Dang, I completely missed the Allison Luff announcement. She was my Elphie for wicked and she was outstanding, hoping to catch her in the show. Is she Jenna thru December 15? That’s how far tickets are sold currently
I’m thinking Alison will have a more open ended engagement similar to Betsy’s run.

Besides some of these YouTubers, what other names could they get to do these roles at this point?

I know she’s working on a new show right now, but I heard Jessica Vosks name being tossed around- maybe Sara could also come back...
Bumping to say if anyone sees Alison and Mark tonight or the next few days please post thoughts here! I’m planning on going again next week.

I'll be there tonight.
I know a final return for Sara is the main rumor/idea being tossed around for closing but I do wonder if somehow the timeline could work that Alison could extend slightly, and then Jessica Vosk could come into the show for a short 2 month run to close out the show, after she finishes Becoming Nancy in Atlanta.
Jessica quite literally tweeted that her playing Jenna is “not happening”.

Was anyone there last night and have a report on how Allison and Mark's first performance went?

Anyone have any idea who's supposed to be going on tonight? I would like to see Noah Galvin before he leaves, and according to his instagram I'm prettyyy sure he's still in it. Also has anyone tried standing room recently? I loved the view last time I did it about 1.5 years ago. I know they are strict about it and only do when show is sold out but that's what I'll be hoping to get. I can only go to the box office after work close to show time anyway, so I think my chances may be okay...possibly?? lol

Both Alison and Mark were pretty perfect. So much chemistry for their first time.

Noah is definitely there yet. The show doesn't sell out. Try for rush tickets instead or use the code FAM5

Thanks for the info! I will try for rush. I heard rush seats aren't the best in this show, but I'll see what they have!
