Was at the show tonight, it appeared to be sold out, or close to it. The audience was really enthusiastic, lots of applause when Colleen first came out. The applause after “When He Sees Me” also lasted a long while.
Colleen was a great Dawn, her voice is amazing and she nailed the comedy. I never would have guessed this was her broadway debut. Todrick was alright as Ogie, his singing was excellent, but that’s about it. He also got a lot of applause when he first appeared and in the middle of his song as well.
They are still using Shoshana’s playbill if anyone is interested about that.
The stage door was absolutely insane, some of her fans were actually running out of the theater right after “Everything Changes”, possibly without realizing there was one more song, as a result there were a lot of other people leaving during “Opening Up (Finale)” as well just to secure a good spot at stage door. I would have been really annoying if it had been my first time seeing the show, but I still think it’s rude and disrespectful to the performers.
edit: forgot to mention, Jordin Sparks was in the audience tonight.
