I made no excuses, NEWBIE. I said act two needs fixing. I went to the fourth preview knowing I wouldn't see a frozen show. You went earlier and are pissed off you paid money to do so. That happens. Sorry you did it. Sorry you didn't know better not to put yourself through an experience like that.
I think you're projecting your rage outward and want the show closed because of your extreme disappointment. If they make decent fixes and if the show is received well, I can imagine you might very well blow a gasket.
i have the time... so i will respond to you, mr. nemo...
read my posts... i never complained about the money and i made a point of saying so... i said "art is meant to challenge, not to please"... i KNOW when i attended and knew it might be rough... so, no, i am cool with the 127.00... i chose to see it, i OWN that... no one owes me cash... cut and paste something that has me saying that i was upset about paying.... i was not...
next, i KNOW the fate of the show... and it's fate is the fault of the creators... i would have NO PROBLEM with it being a success... i truly don't know HOW an UN-entertaining show could BE a success, but it does happen occasionally (THE LIFE?)... so, if it becomes a success, well, COOL.... god bless...
and, um, you accused me of being disappointed... i AM disappointed.... i don't need to cloak it anything else... i am disappointed AND i have strong opinions about what went down... they are mutually exclusive!!
still waiting on a REAL argument in support of the show!
americanboy, my friend was there last night and she really enjoyed it. She said that LuPone was mumbling and that there were two technical glitches towards the end but it didn't ruin the evening for her.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I saw it Tues night. The problems are so ingrained it would truly be something if they can fix it. After SOUTH PACIFIC and PIAZZA it's hard to believe Bartlett Sher got such an expensive , ugly set that never stops moving.Always changing ,yet always ugly. The book is a mess and the score is mediocre.I don't know if Model Behaviour is a good song or if Laura Benanti was just weaving her magic. She was the one bright spot for me.I found it hard watching Danny Burstein trying to massage the material into life. The movie was wild and magical, the show ( and set) should have been. It's a shame. I had such faith that this would be great.Since I have 2 tickets on my membership I have another seat for the end of the run. I hope I see a much changed show.At least I'll see Benanti ( who seems to be a joy in everything she's been doing lately)
It almost never stops moving and in just about every direction. The colors in the original movie were lovely. They really popped. This is more muted and kind of ugly. The projections are sometimes real locations but also sometimes abstract patterns. Sometime they move....up ,down ,change color, swirl and often it happens during the songs. Which would be more up setting if the songs were better. There were sound issues at times and lyrics could be hard to hear. Other times they were very easy to hear which should have been a good thing. But the songs are boring, generic. The one song the audience was DYING to applaud for was Laura Benantis' "Model Behaviour" so they break it up with a little scene and to make it worse ,give her such a short section to finish with that it doesn't have time to build up again. The recent GUYS AND DOLLS had similar ugly projections.
Saw it tonight. The show definitely isn't perfect, and it's still rough around the edges. But overall, I really enjoyed it. The only thing that really bugged me was the inconsistency of the accents. I REALLY liked the music a lot. The thing that needs to be fixed is the structure (and the book in some individual scenes). I loved the choreography. The show definitely has potential, but it should have gone out of town first. You can definitely tell that the cast is having a fantastic time though. They had great chemistry. Benanti and Scott were especially charismatic. Patti was playing Patti, but at least she's good at that. I'd give it a 3.75 out of 5 overall.

"Don't f*** a baby. I'll get rid of your AIDS. If you f*** this frog."
notabb, how come you write "colors" but spell "behaviour" with a U?
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
^A reprise of which song? That certainly does sound odd…but it's good to hear they're trying to rework the ending. The finale from the first preview was a dud.
I am going to try to rush tomorrow night. I will report back on the ending. It seems like they are waiting for a new song. I can't imagine they would actually end the show like that.
