surprised by how many theatre people have never heard of Sara. she is a bonafide pop star who actually writes her music and is loosely based in musical theatre. thought more theatre people would know of and like Sara. she's right up our alley.
anyway, this looks really great. but only because of the music. the staging looks stupid and as much as i love Keri Russell, i hated the movie -- what a lame storyline! by the way... Kimiko Glenn is an incredible talent. this may not be the right fit for her but sjhe is incredible. give her some time. she'll warm up the role.

based on the videos it looks like the set will be very different. I'm excited to see it!
I too am missing Jeanna and Jeremy (seeing him in the ensemble during 'Table' felt like a tease.

There is nothing but speculation that they might not put out a recording. I would guess odds are very high that they will.

I live in an entirely different world than THAT alley. Sugar, flour, butter, whimsy.

I really hope that ensemble "dancing" in Bad Idea was just for the media. It looks tacky and can easily ruin one of the best songs in the show.
Jessie Mueller is heart wrenching. I cannot wait to see her in this again.

...and I Love You Like A Table is still a terrible song.

I like how it has Keala Settle as a paid laugh track!

Has anyone heard any rumblings if they're going to be doing a lottery or rush? Fingers crossed they do rush...I know they won't announce it for another few weeks, but i can hope!

It hurts my ears and the mainstream sensibility is too much for me to bear.

I myself desperately want the cast album. But this won't be the first time a concept album coming out before the musical version would shaft the original cast. Evita's London cast ended up getting only a "highlights" album, which was truly unfortunate because of how good Elaine Paige sounds. Patti (inspite of all her genius and talent) is not my favorite Eva.

It's a door, a table and a plain stage. Not sure how you can base what the stage will look like from a rehearsal space.

@mailhandler777.
The diner counter, etc is now SR instead of stage left in 'I loved you like a table'
and during Bad Idea they had the band on a platform that moved which leads me to think that may be something to happen in the production.
Just a thought.

I can't get myself the least bit interested in this one. I never had any interest in seeing the movie - plot looked awful. From what I've seen so far (the commercial, the preview snippets, etc), It's just not something that excites me at all.

It's very sweet. I didn't love like many did in Boston, but it's very sweet, and Mueller is indeed giving a wonderful performance.

Anyone else hate the higher key "She Used to Be Mine" Mueller is using? She sounds excellent, but the lower version on Bareilles's album is much better. That key only sounds good on Mueller...good luck to anyone else singing it.

Like they do for many roles: if it doesn't work for her understudy or replacement (should it run long enough) they'll change the key. That happens all the time.

Those videos look incredible. "she used to be mine" is such an incredible song and Jessie makes every layer of it so moving. Also Ive been looking at the other musicals this spring and Waitress is BY FAR the best sold new show of the spring as of now.

I thought the same thing about the key change, IdinaBell, but then compared it and it's only a whole step up. I think whoever sings it after her will be okay.

If this ends up being a long run I could see Christine Dwyer as a replacement of Jessie's.

While my ear had gotten used to the lower key that Sara sang it in, I really enjoy the higher key with Jessie. She's going to be amazing...
