"In the Heights set in Flushing, NY with an all Asian cast."
Wow. You'd really understand why Nina is afraid to tell her parents she lost her scholarship with that version.
Her Scholarship to Devry, in the new version.
I have legitimately always wanted to do a concert production of Cats, without cat costumes and someone very drily reading stage directions like, "And then the cat flies up to cat heaven on a tire."
And the only choreography would be stagehands dressed in black moving around actual cats during "Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats".
I just want people to focus on how stupid the show actually is.
I saw a drag show that did Annie set in a whorehouse. Miss Hanigan was the madam and the orphans were her "girls". Needless to say the song "Little Girls" took on a whole new meaning.
Cats with real cats.
Angels in America set in a Chick-fil-a.
BUMP!
Sweeney Todd set in Germany's Great Depression
Avenue Q set in Los Angeles
Spring Awakening set in a 1950s Diner...Oh wait...

I like the Sound of Music idea, but let's use the "Climb Every Mountain" ending, with the last big choral line punctuated by gunshots.
"Till *BANG* You *BANG* Find *BANG* Your *BANG* DREAM!! *BANG*"
Legs Diamond re-imagined as John Gotti.
The Sound of Music where the Nazis catch them.
Equus wherein Alan is a young girl.
The Gin Game done as strip poker, with a hot cast.
Kad, that made me laugh out loud at my desk. Thank you!
An all male Into the Woods. Imagine all it will say about gay life!
I was reading the stage directions in the voice of Alan Rickman.
