Yes. At a Broadway Flea Market several years ago. You were so shabbily attired that I didn't start a conversation with you. You know, "Taste by association" and all that.
Trust me, Roxy, you don't look good in plaid flannel.
Could you guys please elaborate on why you despise these shows? I'm hearing a lot of "It is annoying", or "I didn't like the hype." Those are not physical reasons for hating a show. Sorry! Gotta do better than that.
Was it the story? The lack of a story? The performances? Are you only 14, and don't know much, so all you like is Wicked? LOL - regardless, BACK UP your "despise" of a show with some valid reasons. That's what makes a post interesting - not a list of every show Andrew Lloyd Webber ever wrote.
For me, I think the only show I come close to despising is "Grease." I don't actually hate it - but I avoid it at all costs. I think the structure of the book is flat - it's nothing more than a series of small scenes (that don't flow well and don't really go together - no pun intended), and it's really quite dirty at times. All of the music sounds very much the same within the show. And frankly, I don't care about the characters. It's usually played by people so old to be real high schoolers, that it's highly stylized and unbelievable. What redeeming quality does Rizzo really have? She smokes, hangs out, drinks, and gets knocked up. Oh, and then she sings a song about it. LOL - it just doesn't do anything for me.
I go into EVERY show, with an optimistic attitude, hoping to find something to enjoy. But with "Grease" - it's just not there. Maybe some people like that nostolgic feel....the retro vibe...the dance contest...but it feels very dated, and why every kid in America only wants to do "Grease" at his/her high school, is beyond me.
Now, ladies and gentlemen - THAT is backing up a reason for not liking a show :)

"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
I think that "It's annoying" is a perfectly valid reason to hate a show, given that it's just an opinion and you're not asserting it on anyone else. I said The Music Man, and it just drives me crazy with its cutesiness. (Yes, I know it's satire... that doesn't mean I have to like it.)
