Saw The Fall at the Edinburgh Fringe this past August—it was absolutely breathtaking and I would definitely recommend seeing it if you can.

Posted: 2/12/18 at 12:42amI’ll be in the city at the end of April and I always try and see one off broadway show ( a couple years ago it was a last minute cheap ticket for a show about a boy named Evan and last year it was if I forget). Struggling with what to see this year although leaning toward miss you like hell as I’ve never seen a show at the public....

Can't recommend Sweeney Todd highly enough. The cast is changing after 2/24, but the production runs so smoothly that I think it'll still be an amazing show!

Hangmen, if you can even get a ticket
#17What is the Off Broadway show to see?
Posted: 3/14/18 at 5:26pmSaw both this weekend. Go see Hangmen. Try for a last minute ticket, that’s what I did. Admissions was fine, but Hangmen is really good. Are you already seeing Sweeney Todd?

If you've never been to the Public, def. fun to see it. Great building and space, and great area to walk around before the show.

wanted to bump this thread because it is a huge week for Off-Broadway musicals!
The Lucky Ones begin at Are Nova tomorrow, Miss You Like Hell begins at The Public on Tuesday. Honestly, I could not be more excited
THE LUCKY ONES (* I don't know if Sonya Tayhe has choreographed for theatre before, but I am a HUGE fan of her work and can't wait to see what she comes up with)
Indie-music duo The Bengsons spin a memory-tale of teenaged passion, ideals lived to the limits, family shattered and faith lost — all in hope of finding a way home again. Through soulful electro-folk songs, this driving, semi-autobiographical story grabs joy and grief with the same hand and holds them tightly, in a radical affirmation of being alive.
MISS YOU LIKE HELL (*music on the website sounds interesting and i LOVE Daphne Rubin-Vega. I am also excited to see more work from Lear deBessonet)
Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes (Water by the Spoonful, In the Heights) and acclaimed, genre-breaking singer/songwriter Erin McKeown bring their highly anticipated new musical to The Public this season.
Two-time Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega (Anna in the Tropics, Daphne's Dive) is Beatriz, flawed mom to 16 year-old Olivia, and an undocumented immigrant on the verge of deportation. After living estranged from each other for years, a mother and daughter embark on a road trip that crosses state lines. Together they meet Americans of different backgrounds, shared dreams, and complicated truths in this powerful new show with vast heart and fierce humor.
Obie-winning director Lear deBessonet (Resident Director/ Founder of Public Works) and choreographer Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home) stage this transcendent new production with music that will find your soul, and stay with you forever.
