just seen the message below, huge apologies, i wasn't treading on toes. thinking very much alike.
Philp Quast, love the man, does not have a "pure" voice. his vibrato is extremely overpowering and he tends to go slightly off-key on long vowels.
I don't think anyone has a "perfect" voice. are you talking about the sound they're producing? or the actual technique?

My thoughts would be something along the lines of Sandi Patty, Barbra Streisand, or Julie Andrews.

firstly in reply Philip Quast is an Australian who in the West End has been in Les Mis, Hunting of the Snark, The Fix, The Secret Garden Sunday in the Park. and La Cage.
secondly what i meant and I mean for me personally, someone, who isin't a belter. but someone who sings beautifully, who captures the words and has that lilt, that dream like quality.
Another who always did it for me is the irish performer Siobhan McCarthy, original Svetlana in London Chess, just a gorgeous voice.
I just don't think there is "perfection".
the closest thing to that is Pavarotti, my friends.
even though I am obsessed with Philip Quast's portrayal of Javaret, he is far from "pure" and "perfect"

Laura Benanti won me over with her singing "little lamb" in Gypsy
When I think pure voice I think of Lea Salonga.
Lea would be my choice for female
Ah, yeah, Barbara Cook is quite pure in my mind.

These voices are by no means perfect, but they are perfectly pure...
Marin Mazzie
Christine Ebersole (in Act 1 of GG)
Audra
Kelli O'Hara (in Piazza)
Laura Benanti (in Nine and Woods)
Jason Danieley
Gavin Creel
Matt Morrison (I never liked his voice until recently)

and of course Lea....
Mandy Patinkin has his moments !
well.. I'll go with a tie between Auda and Kelli
I'm obsessed with Gavin Creel and Cheyenne Jackson but they don't have "pure" voices - they are much more pop and contemporary styling.
I think I'd have to go with Mr. Mitchell as well

As far as perfect voices well I don't think that anyone has a perfect voice but Lea Salonga comes pretty darn close.
As for pure voices I will say that Dee Roscioli(Chicago Wicked) has one of the purest voices I ever heard.
for me, it's
Lea Salonga
Julie Andrews
Audra McDonald
Kelli O'Hara
Anthony Warlow
Colm Wilkinson
Brian Stokes Mitchell
I agree that 'perfect' and 'pure' are pretty subjective
For me it would be Philip Quast, Mandy Patinkin, Michael Ball and Luciano Pavarotti

To me, their voices are as beautiful as it is possible to be
It was nice to see (almost) all my favorites already mentioned by others
In terms of purity, I'd have to go with Lea Salonga and especially Liz Callaway, with Megan McGinnis a rising talent with similar vocal qualities. As for men... I'm not sure I can think of a man with equivalent timbre.

Not a live performer, except for concerts, but kd lang is pretty pure to me.
