Wow! I'm glad you got it back! Sometimes I send stuff and I basically give up hope if it takes a really long time, but its always a pleasant surprise when your stuff finds it's way back to you.
Finally got a reply from Marin Mazzie today! I wrote to her about 2 weeks before Bullets closed. She sent back my 2 pictures signed, my Carrie CD Booklet, and she wrote me a nice little note thanking me for the love and support. It took about 2 1/2 months! I hope she gets back on broadway soon! I still think she deserved a Tony nomination for Bullets. But the past is in the past...
Just checked the mail today and Michael C.Hall replied!!! He didn't send back my questionarrie but he sent me a signed playbill and a button! (Which at first was kind of random but I love it)
Just got my 3 photos back from Carol Burnett- all signed and inscribed! Took only 11 Days.
Off-Broadway- Just saw Morgan Fairchild in a show here in Missouri and met her after- extremely sweet and when she asked me how to spell my name, she told me she had just mailed my stuff back to me the day before and i would have it soon. LOL
I was cleaning out my "theater box" and came across something that I thought I would share. I wrote to Julie Andrews and dropped the card off with her manager during one of her book tours.
(I did mention being on Oprah with her during the Sound of Music reunion - didn't think she would remember me).
About two months later, I got a response. Keep in mind, I did send one five years earlier and got a form letter with a pre-signed picture).
This time, I got a unsigned picture (she had already signed my book at the book signing so no loss there) and a personalized letter - she had indeed remembered me and praised my efforts in advocating for improving accessibility to the arts. Not only that, the fan manager also scribbled down a note of her own stating that she had seen me on Oprah and loved my story that I shared on the show.
Imagine that. Fan mail from the fan mail manager? Who would have thunk? :)
- Hunchback at La Jolla - The Band Wagon at Encores! - The Last Ship - Cinderella (Again, I want a playbill signed by each new cast that comes in) - Barrett Wilbert Weed - You Can't Take It With You
Today i got my photo and dvd cover both back signed by S. Epatha Merkerson VIA While I Yet Live. She for some reason signed the photo on the back, but that's okay. Took 14 days
I got a letter from It's Only a Play asking for a $50 donation. I'm not surprised, but I thought I would take a chance. Has anyone heard anything back from the other shows that have opened (The Last Ship, SideShow, etc.)?
Heard back from Glenn Close today. Took about two weeks. She signed my playbill of A DELICATE BALANCE as well as my CD covers of SUNSET BOULEVARD, BARNUM, and REX.
I got a response from Roz Ryan today! I sent to her when the Chicago Tour was in Nashville. Here's what I got:
- My Scandalous Playbill signed and personalized - My Scandalous CD Cover signed on the inside - My Hercules CD Cover signed on the inside - My Pajama Game CD Cover signed on the inside - A cast signed playbill from the Chicago tour in New Orleans
I got A Delicate Balance playbill from the stage manager signed by all of the leads. I also sent a letter to Laura Osnes in The Band Wagon at Encores and she sent back a playbill signed by her!
^ I also sent to the Band Wagon. Nothing yet. But I sent to the stage manager, not a specfic person.
UPDATE: Just checked today's mail and I did in fact hear back from The Band Wagon! They sent me an unsigned playbill and Brian Stokes Mitchel signed my Ragtime CD cover!
Just checked the mail and got a response from "The Last Ship". Fred Applegate signed my Anything Goes and Sister Act playbills! Sadly they did not send a cast signed playbill. It could have to do with it being BC/EFA season, but they didn't include a note asking for any kind of donation either. Sort of odd. The same thing happened with Violet. Got my stuff back, but no cast signed playbill or donation request.
