Like you have a point....
I just came back from tonight's performance and I was wondering if Ben would tour with the show.
However, I'm also scared the show won't survive without Ben.
The ticket sales have been extended to March 18, 2018. Do you think he'll be with the show then?
I mean it's not impossible he'll extend, but I think after 2-3 years of being with the show I would think he would want to take a break. I think it's more likely he tours with the show in major markets.

Mitchell Hope, like the Australian actor from Descendants, Mitchell Hope?
Yeah!
No, I don't think he will extend. No, I don't think he'll tour. Especially if he wins the Tony. When this contract is over, he'll likely have had enough. I can only imagine this is a fairly difficult and draining role to play. Additionally, he could likely have a number of other offers, and an actor needs to strike while the iron is hot.

I'm not sure if he can sing the role. He shared with another singer on both Ben songs in the movie, so I'm not sure what is him, and what is Jeff Lewis.
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It wouldn't surprise me though, seems like a Disney thing to do. Didn't they do the same thing with Zach Efron in the first HSM?

Yeah, supposedly that was a timing thing? He sang in 2 and 3 though.
I also doubt he'll tour nor renew his contract especially after he wins the Tony.
The only possibility I think he would do is if the show goes to London's West End. After all, I'd think he'd have a great shot for that Olivier award!
Is Jay Armstrong too old to pull off a teenager on stage? If not, then Jay Armstrong.

Though he's a bit on the old side, I could see Taylor Trensch doing well with it, but he's tied in up in Dolly for the time being
Laura Dreyfuss is 28 and Kristolyn Lloyd is 31, so they don't see averse to casting older actors, so long as they can convincingly read as teens.
I feel like Jordan Fisher would do the role justice, but I want more of an unknown. I like the idea of Taylor Trensch. I've also been thinking about Jeff Heimbrock and Nicholas Barasch

Do we know that he can't?
I feel like I remember hearing him in interviews talking about how he can't really sing. Maybe he can sing a little, but that's not the kind of singing required for Evan.
I just never heard one way or another, so was just curious if that was a known thang.

I really think Ben Fankhauser could be an impressive Evan Hansen!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought of Jordan Fisher i also have thought that if Jordan was to go into the role Audra McDonald could make an amazing Heidi!

If there's a less appropriate and more desperate casting choice, I can't think of it
