I would really rather not listen to Barrett Wilbert Weed screlt her way through Wicked, on stage or on screen. But that's me.

Eh, as long as she isn't singing the score live, she would sound fine.

This will probably be released by 2021 at the latest. This is one of the films that Perfect World Pictures had selected rights to co-produce and co-finance with Universal with their multi-film slate deal. The contract they have with universal is for five years and it started early 2016, if it's not released Christmas 2019 as planned they'll probably schedule it for the following summer or Winter in 2020. Expect Wicked to be a co-production between Universal, Perfect World and Marc Platt productions.

Here's how it works, folks: When you see an official announcement with an official start date for principal photography you'll know it's happening. Until that time, it's all press agents earning their dough.

Timothy Chalamet is wayyy too twinky for Fiyero.
Shawn Mendes I could see tho.
this will make for a VERY dumb film. A la phantom.

Not much, but she can definitely handle Morrible’s singing parts.

sorry for getting y'alls hopes up by bumping this thread with a new comment... but i was watching "You Again" last night and kept thinking that Kristen Bell would be an amazing Glinda!
Kristen Bell is way too old in my opinion. Good for act two, but as a freshman in college? Definitely not.
I think Kristen Bell can easily pass as a college freshman with some screen magic.
