I really think Ariana DeBose is no brainer casting for Elphaba

I loved the vibrant colors in In the Heights
Seems as though JoJo is auditioning. Her voice would absolutely KILL Elphaba!!!

JoJo would be an interesting choice. She could definitely sing it and has acting experience. I would hope she doesn't go too crazy with riffing it but there's plenty of worse choices they could make.

Jessie J is prepping for her Elphaba audition. Benjamin Rauhala said on his Instagram story that the track she's using is the exact one casting has been sending out...

^ She’s definitely nailed the vocal riffs

Jessie J is the most exciting choice I heard yet. I can forsee a lot of disappointment if Elphaba is played by a white woman though.
It’s interesting hearing her strip the song right back so it’s purely her vocals instead of the vocal gymnastics she does on every song.
I wouldn’t be mad if Jessie J won the part.

Jojo would pair well with Dove Cameron and Jessie J would pair well with Amanda Seyfried age wise.
I agree that Jessie J did a really dang good job vocally on this song and it would be interesting if they cast her as Elphaba with either Dove Cameron or Amanda Seyfried.

I hope Ashley Park is being considered for Glinda

Jessie J is the best option I’ve seen so far. She sings the material effortlessly, and she’s an actual star who would appeal to more than the fans in the Broadway bubble. I’ve seen parts of her personality that are both playful as well as sexy and dangerous, and she would look really amazing in the makeup and costumes. Of course, there is the possibility that she can’t act or take direction, but if she can, she’s the whole package.

Jessie has been dealing with some vocal issues (which she has been openly talking about on social media) so that might explain the lack of her signature vocal gymnastics. She sounded quite good singing Defying Gravity but I wonder if those vocal issues would get in the way of her being cast.
I don't think this movie will ever be made.

If this movie ever gets made… doubtful… it won’t be a white woman playing Elphaba. I call it now.
Cynthia Erivo please.
Jessie J’s reputation in the industry has definitely diminished in the past few years, but she’s certainly talented. By no means do I think this will be a prestige film, once Daldry left it’s clear they went 100 percent commercial.

If the movie gets made, I see Elphaba, Fiyero, and Nessarose all being played by blacks.

What an asinine comment.
