So lookinh at this 6 weeks later the only real change was Amanda Harrison as Glinda

I thought Helen Dallimore from the London production was announced to play Glinda in Australia?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

There is still talk ( well rumours ) of both Helen and Idina during the first 8 weeks or so. That rumour was also fueled by the fact that both Idina and Taye where in Sydney a couple of weeks ago.

I can not see Delta doing this, that fake cancer scare was not done so she could end up treading he boards four to six times per week.

Helen was the first choice in the rumor mill when they announced the show was going to be going to Sydney. Keep in mind that they announced the Sydney production not so long after the London one opened up.
At that point, Helen was doing the show in London and the fans figured that she would go because she is from down under.
There have been interviews that bring up this rumor. She says that she would like to do it considering the fact that it is a homecomming of sorts for her. But, nothing has been talked about between her and the producers yet.
I don't think that Idina would do the show yet again. Although, she is releasing a new album and is trying to have it reach a more broader audicence then the broadway fanbase she has gotten. She is trying to go into the mainstream pop area of music.
That being said. She could do the show in Sydney and consdier it a business move. While she is there she can promote her new CD and get a bit of buzz going about it internationally.

Winston the show is opening in Melbourne, not Sydney.

If it really IS Lucy (as Glinda) I'll cry of joy. She was totally born to play the role and utterly deserves it :)
Rodney as Dillamond I guess?
Just please, not Rob Mills. He was horribly wooden in Grease. I know one doesn't care THAT much about Fiyero when you have the two witches on stage, but please, someone good!
And as much as I would hate Anthony Callea to be cast...I can see him being not the worst Boq in the world. Huh.
If Delta is cast, I am willing to bet her understudy will get a greater working out then any of Debbie Byrnes understudies ever did.
I love Pippa Grandison and would be quiet thrilled to see her in such a large production. Hell it is alot better then those Rachel Beck rumours I heard a while ago.
I guess the one big thing Anthony Callea has got going for him is that he is literally the size of a munchkin.
I kinda like Rob Mills actually. Granted never saw Grease. I avoid Arena shows like the Bubonic Plague.
Urban maybe they should hire Debbie as well and they both can try to outdo each other on who can miss the most shows!

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)
Tell me Bert Newton is just a joke. And Delta. And for that matter, anyone from Australian Idol. Or they could just throw caution to the wind and completely go for stunt casting. I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Judi Conelli as Morrible.
Okay, now, I love Delta Goodrem's music...but Elphaba? Really? Please let that be a joke. I feel like she would embarrass herself...and not vocally last more than maybe two weeks.
I doubt that Delta Goodrem (new nose and all) was ever a serious contender, just wishful thinking on the part of the producers. Rob Guest as the Wizard? Ugh.
I have known a few people to actually go to the trouble of watching Oz Idol.
Considering I don't even bother myself and it is a flick of the TV remote...
Mrs Mangle - I did think of Judi, but I am sure she'll be playing Mrs Lovett for like the 13213th time. Plus I have to admit, as big as a Judi Conelli fan I am, I have to admit, nobody can top the thought of Maggie Kirkpatrick as Morrible (again... *droooool...*)
