Here's my opinion- last time I post it-
Idina doesn't need to give an autograph (in my opinion), if she wants people to hate her- let it affect her career. Let people say "Oh, what a b*tch" and start to lose respect for her or whatever they might think. It is her decision whether she wants to sign autographs or not. Let it impact HER.
But any blatent rudeness is UNCALLED for, especially for a young girl. Although the waiting time is extreme, this is not the first time I have heard such a story about Idina being rude. There is a problem between being shy and being rude.
Yes, she had a bad day- if I went and slammed the door on someone's face, they give me hell about it, having a bad day isn't an EXCUSE for being so unecessarily rude. There are different degrees of it, and what Idina did was just so incredibly b*tchy.
EDIT: And Delphine, LOL, I can't believe that's in your signature. :P

Posted: 8/27/04 at 10:10amYou're so right, Littlefish. So many people on this board don't realize these actors are human. Not perfect, not saints, not royalty to be bowed down to and treated like glass. They have jobs to do like the rest of us. Most of the time, they have great jobs that most people would kill for. So they have to sign autographs when they leave the theater...really a very small sacrifice in the scheme of things. Think of the cleaning woman working three jobs to support her kids. Then cry to me about Idina being swamped by adoring fans.

Posted: 8/27/04 at 10:15amOne more thing - Idina is paid, by certain reports, approx. $30,000 a week. A WEEK. Do you know that I live in NYC on not much more than that for the entire YEAR? Sign a few autographs!! Be nice to the people making it possible for you to make that insane amount of money for getting to do what you love.

Posted: 8/27/04 at 10:17amIs that really how much she gets paid? Thats like one year of college a week!!!!! I've gotta get me a job like that
#205re: 'Wicked' Stage Door Yesterday (Aug 25th)
Posted: 8/27/04 at 10:30amShe really gets paid that. Same with Kristin Chenoweth.

Posted: 8/27/04 at 10:42amShe's probably on a cut of the box office takings as well. It's a fair whack. But then lets put it in perspective with the Friends getting $1 MILLION an EPISODE for a fair few seasons.

maybe I'm crazy, but I like that she's not fake. Yeah that's rude, but at least she's not pretending she loves everyone. Idina, if you are a rude person, be rude!<--- since everyone knows that she reads this board, duh!
#209re: 'Wicked' Stage Door Yesterday (Aug 25th)
Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:12pmI have never heard anything nice about Idina.
#210re: 'Wicked' Stage Door Yesterday (Aug 25th)
Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:29pmObviously whatever Idina is doing, she is doing something right -not saying I agree with being rude to fans but people are STILL drawn to her, talking about her, going to see her, etc. She has a huge following, she has a 9 page thread all about her on this site, and she is getting more and more recognition by everyone taking the time to discuss her every move. So she obviously knows how to play her cards right, because she keeps everyone talking, and without that, she would be nobody. Updated On: 8/27/04 at 12:29 PM

#212re: 'Wicked' Stage Door Yesterday (Aug 25th)
Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:32pmBut it's 9 pages of pointing out what an utter cow she is to her fans. Not something she's going to be proud of, is it?

Has anyone READ the 9 pages?
About 2 of them were our useless drivel just directed to her...

Apparently you don't.
And you still want to chime in without knowing what we wrote.

Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:35pmIt may be 9 pages about how horrible she is, but its still 9 pages about her nonetheless. As they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity!
#217re: 'Wicked' Stage Door Yesterday (Aug 25th)
Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:36pmWhat we're saying, Check, is that all 9 pages aren't about her. We got a little offtrack for a while...

Yeah, I understand that (because I read some of it, very funny by the way...)
It just is that Idina Menzel is one of those names that people can't help talking about around here, whether you love her, hate her, love or hate the show too. And that, since she is such a constant around here, proves that people do give her attention.

Love her, hate Wicked. Can't wait til she stars in a good musical. And hope she hasn't wrecked her voice, those rusty gate swinging noises she makes as she breathes between phrases make me worry and stuff.
May she live to shove a thousand thousand more tweens out of her way.

"May she live to shove a thousand thousand more tweens out of her way."
Ahh that was hysterical, thank you.
I still haven't seen Wicked, I'm going January 23rd, after she leaves (UNLESS SHE STAYS AHH DOES ANYONE KNOW IF SHE EXTENDED HER CONTRACT?!?!?!? THIS IS LIFE OR DEATH!)
But anyway, yeah I am disappointed that I won't see her, I love her on the cast recording, and I really think she's got some talent about her.

Posted: 8/27/04 at 12:47pmoh lord...Idina went to a yoga class HOW horrible! Could it be she worked her ass off for 2 hours plus and needed to do something for herself? She leaves the gershwin, comes back 3 hours later...same people are still outside...wouldn't you be a little scared? Even if it is a 10 year old child..it seems to me more parents are the autograph seekers than kids and they push them to be used as an excuse to meet the star. I think she has every right to do what she wants and how she wants to do it. Her job STOPS when the show ends.
