Will Lea just fade away when Glee ends?

Posted: 3/14/15 at 12:56amI just wondered-Lea hasn't any really successful endeavors outside of Glee. When the series ends will she just sort of dry up and fade away? I mean she doesn't seem to have any broad appeal and her attempts at fame seem very forced. It seems like she really hasn't crossed over.

Posted: 3/14/15 at 1:27amWell I'd say Spring Awakening was a successful endeavor for her. But I hope she does not fade away, she is very talented! I would like to see her as Nessarose in a movie of Wicked actually.

It's too early to say. Think about actors who are a big deal today who broke out on a TV show and most of them didn't do much during said show. Michelle Williams for example only did a few so so things around dawsons creek back in the day.
Lea has work lined up allready on scream queens so she isn't goung to fade away yet.

I'm feeling more and more confused about glee and its cast. Someone help please.
I know there is technology now to improve singing voices. I have concluded that it is used extensively on glee. Seems like today's version of lip synching.
My question is how much improvement can it make? Everybody on the show sounds like an absolutely perfect singer. I was assuming the there was minimal enhancement. But the hedwig thread here vows that Darren Chriss did not sing well on how to succeed and won't be able to do hedwig. So am I to conclude that no one on glee can sing? I've heard Morrison and lea on Broadway so I know that's not true. But maybe glee has taught me that they may not be as good as I thought. That also leads me to wonder about cast recordings. Do they use the same technology there? And are they using it live during Broadway shows?? Oh my poor head.

You're talking about auto-tune. I rather doubt OBCRs use that, though commercial solo albums like her latest may use it.
Don't forget that television filming allows for as many takes as necessary for a "perfect" recording. The final product there is something the masses get used to as well.

Many OBCRs most definitely do.

What I find mysterious is how a (formerly) popular, buzzy show can introduce SO MANY young, attractive, talented (varied) actors/singers with so little outside success. Has anyone really broken out in movies or other TV success or notable recording careers? The show definitely boosted Jane Lynch's profile, but she was already ascending due to a bunch of memorable small movie parts.

"Many OBCRs most definitely do."
Really?! I don't know how old the technology is, so I wonder at what time period this has become more common.

Lea fading away? Well, not if Ryan Murphy has his way. He is still planning a FUNNY GIRL production, apparently on Broadway, and she is still attached. Didn't she already prove on the show that she is incapable of doing the role? Whatever her vocal prowess, she simply isn't funny. And now that Sutton and Kristin are officially "too old" to play Fanny, who else is left? And most people have never seen the actual show, which is nothing like the movie. Fanny isn't in every scene, as she seems to be in the film, and there are lots of dull songs and scenes without her. Frankly, the show just isn't that good, which is probably why the Lauren Ambrose casting would not have worked or brought in the crowds.
What really kills me is that Murphy has allowed GLEE, once a fun and entertaining show, to turn into garbage over the last few seasons. This week's episode, with poor Jane Lynch having to do her worst, was an embarrassment. The days when the camera could cut back and forth over all the performers who couldn't dance or even move to the rhythm, are now ridiculous. I am fearful to see the final two-hour episode...

What really kills me are the people who hate 'Glee' but continue to watch it and seem compelled to share their hate with others. ... 'Glee' might not be perfect, but imagine writing a new musical each week for 6 seasons. There will be hits and misses. So if it's such a 'fearful' proposition to watch the finale, don't.
As for Lea, she had a career BEFORE 'Glee' and she'll have one AFTER.

Posted: 3/14/15 at 2:07pmWell, let's be honest here: she's 28. Statistically speaking about ingenues, she has about seven or eight years left in her career before she's going to have to either redefine herself or open a coffee shop in the suburbs.

I know I have not watched "Glee" in a few years but when did they ever sing mostly new music. The show has always used hit pop/rock tunes and Broadway songs for the most part. "Glee" is not like "Smash" where 90% of the music performed was original.
Yes, Lea was very good in "Spring Awakening" but that was years ago and one show. Also, she was part of a very good ensemble cast and did not have to carry the show. If she goes on Broadway now, I think that would be different and could she do it.
