On a recent Friday night I had onstage seating and we got into the theater around 7:40 and sat dead center front row. It does help you get the front seats if you are 'enthusiastic' (but not overly so). Those who don't look like they are enjoying the show are very noticable and can be distracting to the audience.
If I bought an on-stage seat and I haven't seen the show before am I gonna miss anything? I know that's been said for first-timers at Spring Awakening but I wasn't sure...
and is there student rush for the show? I haven't seen anything about it yet, but I haven't been looking too hard :)
and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...
StephanietheStar - There are alot of visuals, sight-gags, faces made (especially by Calliope & Mellipone) that you'll miss. I think you shouldn't get on stage seats... not for the 1st time anyway. If you become a repeat offender, like me, then it's OK.

I had tickets for a Sunday, and we waited in line about 2 pm for a 3 pm curtain. We were the second group of people there, but first for onstage seats.

Stephanie ~ If you sit on one of the sides you'll see pretty much everything just fine. It's the ones in the center that you get the most backs. Ask to sit on the sides.

The side seats are fine. I've seen it from the front of the house and the stage on the side and can recall very little I missed from the side vantage point on stage.

So you know how Mary Testa touches someone onstage, is there any pattern. I'm taking my friends and i'd love for one of them to be the person she caresses....anyone have a theory on this....

I'm sitting onstage in a couple weeks and want to make sure I'm *NOT* the person she caresses (touch sensitive, very negative reaction). Anyone suggestions?
Not to thread-jack, but really dont want to start another thread... new shirts will be available in a few weeks. Supposedly one in black, and one with rhinestones.
Also, the "Xanadu" jacket that is worn by Kira and Sonny at the end of the show should be available in a few months.
OBCR is still up in the air. Just of matter of when, but no set date yet.
I will be sitting onstage on the 14th of this month. I am excited. I will report back with my experience. It must be cool to sit onstage if there was a tech problem that stopped the show. Not that I'm hopping for one because that would be bad for the show in general.
"This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man."
I'm hoping to get back onstage on the 25th if my current plans hold out and tickets are still available--they were as of Wednesday and according to a previous poster. I got day-of onstage seats during previews but will definitely book a week or two in advance this time.
And is it just me or did JStarr's Fanadu thread disappear. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.
When I went, Mary caressed someone sitting near the middle of the...stage left center seating thingie, the place where she and Jackie eat popcorn.
If you're touch sensitive, you also might want to avoid the front seat on the right aisle of the stage right center seating thingie. After she caressed the person, she walked down the stairs, grabbed my arm, and made a "shhhh" face at me.
I actually adored that seat. I danced with her a bit at the end, too. I'm going back the 17th, and it'll be hard to convince myself not to take that same seat, I really loved it, but I really should try to get a different view. Hmmm...
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
hey fanadu's I have a question and I know that they had stopped rush until further notice post opening b/c of reviews. etc. but does anyone know if they've started rush again (I searched and couldn't find anything besides old rush threads) OR if they haven't what are the chances of it being back up by Sept. 2 when I'm planning on going? thanks for your help!
