Hmmm... probably the Hirschfeld and the nederlander, in that order.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
I really like the Majestic--a beautiful example of an old house that's not a huge cavern (although it is a pretty good size). The Imperial is beautiful as well, although I think I'm more in love with the pretty marquee than I am with the theatre itself.
I think my favorite, though, is the Nederlander. The funny thing is that I don't love the Nederlander simply because Rent plays there, but most of the reason I love it is for the interior and exterior decor that was done when Rent moved in. From the facade to the marquee to the box office to the lobby to the restrooms to the proscenium, Paul Clay gave the theatre such a unique and pretty atmosphere that is heavily themed without being fake and hokey. It's always fun to visit (and it never fails to make me nostalgic for the 90s ).
"If there is going to be a restoration fee, there should also be a Renaissance fee, a Middle Ages fee and a Dark Ages fee. Someone must have men in the back room making up names, euphemisms for profit."
(Emanuel Azenberg)
I personally love the Gershwin...and not because of Wicked. I actually say 1776 there a few years back. I think it's great to see all those theater greats in there!
I liked the Majestic too and the former Martin Beck (which is the Hirschfeld now right?). I can't quite remember the others very well!
I like the Music Box Theatre, the Broadway Theatre and the New Amsterdam Theatre.
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
I was just in the Shubert yesterday. That theater is small! I stood in the back and saw their facial expressions just fine. Then when I sat front row I barely had leg room, unlike when I was front row at the Marquis, and I could literally reach out and touch Patsy's shoe when he came stage left.
"We like to snark around here. Sometimes we actually talk about theater...but we try not to let that get in our way." - dramamama611
My favorite is the Majestic theatre. I also like the Gershwin for legroom and others I like are the New Amsterdam, Hilton, Shubert. My least favorite is the Nederlander, it is always cold and seats are uncomfortable.
The Biltmore was completely renovated a few years ago, its biggest improvement (aside from being beautiful inside) is that EVERY SEAT in the theater offers a FULL VIEW of the stage! I'm hoping that, in time, every theater will be redone to eliminate obstructed seating. It just doesn't make sense, ya know?

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Every seat has a great view (except for the rear orchestra, with some slight overhang obstrcution, but that's minimal) and you can get awesome seats in the mezzanine for only 41.25.
Not a fan of the Nederlander, its gross. (And I'm not talking about it being made run-down-ish because of Rent, the seats in the mezz are falling apart, and the bathrooms are so dirty) Updated On: 9/9/06 at 09:01 AM
My absolute favorite theatre is The Winter Garden - so full of history - and it's gorgeous. It's too bad MAMMA MIA! is in there...I look forward to the day when I can re-enter the theatre.
I also adore The Walter Kerr. Something about it is just very welcoming.
I love the Lyceum, also full of history.
The Shubert is another favorite, as well as The Palace.
Lease favorites: Gershwin, Minskoff, Marquis
"If you are going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy."-Charlie Manson
"Least favorite probably Richard Rogers, the seat were uncomfortable and the mezzanine was really steep."
When I saw Movin' Out, I was in Row 6 Orchestra Left. But I felt like I was sitting against a wall. I climbed on the floor to get to the lobby, which reminded ne of the one at the L.A. Shubert. I like the Pantages in L.A.
