I saw this on Playbill.com yesterday.
I think this would be the only reason I would want to be a short, chunky white girl.

I hate being a tall, chunky, white girl.

Thank you Yoda! I'm 5'9. You don't have to be short to be chubby damnit!
Yeah -- it's not like Edna's short!!!!
LOLOLOL!!!!!!
Lil Miz, I'm with you! I'm a chunky white girl - but I'm 5"4 - never in my life will I want to be short again.
Do you guys think that any non-"chunky" girls will be typed out? It didn't really say anything about being heavy...just under 5'3" and I know that they use fat suits sometimes. What do ya think?

Congrats Broadwayguy2, when did you get the promotion as PR director for "Hairspray"? Hope you got a big raise!
Please don't - this is the ONLY part availabele for girls like us...short and chunky. Please don't take that away from us.
We're not trying to take it away, we just want to know where the role for Tall Chunky White Girls is.
*Braces himself for the stampede*
Hairspray calls are always INSANELY packed so get there REALLY early (I mean like, 5-6am-seriously) if you want to have a good shot at getting seen.
I've seen people camp out overnight a la American Idol to audition for Hairspray and Fiddler.

Actually, the audition notice does say something about being chunky. It says "Must be heavyset." broadwayguy2 just gave the basics, but it does specify being overweight.
It also says not to show up before 1:30pm.
