The LES MIZ cast as a whole each time I've seen it

Most of the Phantom's and Christine's I'ves seen have "it." It's supposed to be there between RAOUL and Christine, too, and vene more, but I can say that each and every time I have seen the show- all 12- there was more between Erik and his young soprano. The Christine and Raoul romance was flat and there because it had to be IMO.

Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in anything they do together re: on-stage chemistry

If you get a good Raoul, there can be chemistry, all right. The first Christine and Raoul I ever saw were Teri Bibb and Keith Buterbaugh at The Kennedy Center in D.C. They had it in spades.

Although I'm always a little reluctant to jump into discussions of chemistry. So much of it really seems to be in the eye of the beholder. I've seen so many people bubbling over the chemistry between so-and-so and whatsisname on any given show, while I'm sitting there trying to stifle a yawn, that I think sometimes -- not all the time, but sometimes -- we see chemistry where we want to see it.

-Def Adam and Anthony in RENT
-Idina and Norbert in Wicked (I don't know WHAT it was about them, but their ALAYM.. litterally felt like sex haha)
-Stephen Lynch and Laura Benanti in Wedding Singer (they have amazing chemistry even just on the RECORDING. ridiculous.)
-Alice Ripley and Brian d'Arcy James in Next to Normal (truly, they are AMAZING together)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

I saw Norbert Leo Butz and Jonathan Pryce together in DRS and I thought they worked great together on-stage.

And I have to second Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman in Xanadu. Amazing!

Long time ago, but Chita and Gwen were awesome together. Also I enjoyed Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat in Annie Get Your Gun and of course, the best chemistry ever was Matthew and Nathan...

oh, it totally makes a difference. Daphne Rubin Vega and Antonique may not be my favorite Mimis but Daphne-Adam and in close second Tim-Antonique is hard to beat.

everyone keeps mentioning Adam and Anthony, i mean I guess they have good chemistry since they have a history and all but I personally didn't think it was anything extraordinary (not to say its bad or anything)

I think Wilson and Jesse have great chemistry as do Justin and Marcus.

The reason I've only mentioned Rent is because i've seen so many different actors in the roles and mix and matched pairs whereas for other shows i may have felt chemistry but have nothing to compare it to.

I second Gwen Verdon & Chita Rivera. I got to see them together in the OBC of Chicago, and I don't think that the chemistry they had together has been topped. Their "Nowadays" finale was a clinic in perfect timing and synchronicity.

Adam Pascal and Jesse L. Martin
i thought Laura Bell Bundy and her fellow Delta Nu sisters were good
and the Eponine/Marius i saw were amazing. i regret to say i didn't get a chance to learn their names, both were understudies, but i saw the show late June of 2007.

WORST chemistry?
Declan Bennett and Tamyra Gray
honestly, Tamyra/Adam didn't have chemistry until the end portion of adam's run in RENT

Tamyra doesn't have chemistry with anyone. Not with Adam, not with Jay, not with Declan, not with Tim.

Least charismatic Mimi I've seen.

Declan is fantastic with Caren Lyn Manuel though.

Adam Pascal and Daphne Rubin-Vega

Least chemistry? Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele

re: on-stage chemistry

Michael Arden and John Hill in Bare <33

(yes, the picture was necessary. hehe)

oh, and about Lea Michelle and Jon Groff:
It's funny, because sometimes I almost think that the reason they can come off as "not having chemistry" is because they're TOO comfortable with each other. I felt the same way about Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs when they were in Wicked together. Lea and Groff are SUCH close friends (to the point where Lea has said that they are like soul mates), and know each other SO well, that it kind of works against them on stage. You just don't really buy that they're two young kids getting to really know each other for the first time. Nothing seems.. new.. to them. So it's not so much that they don't have chemistry because they don't mesh well together, but rather that they mesh TOO well together. If that long ramble makes any sense at all.. haha
