Are they going to announce on Tuesday or Wednesday. Also, can you give any hints of their fall gala?

Not sure what day and I have no idea what their fall gala will be. All I know for sure is ALNM with Aaron Tveit.

Listen I know Tveit IS old enough to technically have a ~14 year old daughter but that's still wildly young to me. That means they'd be casting Desiree at a young-ish 40, which IS the age of the character on paper but casting Lea Michelle (not a rumor just a name that's late 30s) is a very different production than a Cate Blanchete/Julie Andrews production people want.

I really don’t see the point of an Encores Night Music. Give me a full Lincoln Center revival.

Encores doesn't really have a "mission" anymore, so any show is fair game... I didn't really see the point of their WOODS, but I'm glad we got that production and its Broadway transfer.

At minimum, it will be nice to hear it with a full orchestra and probably with a more diverse cast than we've seen in previous NYC productions of ALNM. And believe it or not Spring 2024 will be nearly 15 years since the CZJ revival opened...and once upon a time we had 4 major productions of FOLLIES in just 13 years (Paper Mill, Roundabout, Encores, Kennedy Center/Marquis).

The lip could either be: Taboo or Rocky Horror (or could be a different show since it reminds me The Life cover art at NYC Center)

Is Titanic the stars? How is Little Night Music the single music note with a purple background?

Is this TITANIC rumor for real or is that just someone dreaming?

I still think the single music note could be the Carter Beane revisal of BABES IN ARMS (Johnny One Note), which he has been peddling around town.

Went to buy Light in the Piazza tickets on May 13 and asked when they are going to announce their next encores season and the worker said either in 2 weeks from Monday May 15 or a week before Piazza starts.
 

Did they push back the announcement?

I've been sending out missives to the universe about an Anika Noni Rose as Desiree moment. Audra would be fun too since she'd get to be wryly funny in a way she's quite capable of but rarely gets to use on stage. Phylicia Rashad is inspired casting for Madame but her constant public defense of Cosby has made me so leery of her. I think Lillias White would bring a real Stritchie quality to that role except she'd remember the lines.

I doubt it’s Smile, but that would present an interesting conundrum. Do they present the infamous campy flop version that played Broadway, or the hugely retooled and improved licensing version that the writers preferred but never got a big showing for?

It would be interesting to hear the show with live orchestration… but on the other hand, I feel like the warm, squelchy synth sounds of the widely circulated reference recording are a big part of the show’s sound and charm.

Strange to me that they haven't announced the gala show yet. Last year, Parade was announced May 17th and tickets were already on sale for that before the Encores season was announced on June 16th. 

If they are doing a gala show this year, Night Music would be perfect for that.

oops... they did announce and I missed it. It's Pal Joey. So no Night Music.
