The most boring show ever - PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!!!
If it weren't for Phantom being so far ahead of the pack, then BOY FROM OZ would be it.
Of the current/newer productions on Broadway, COMPANY for sure. Other than Raul's solo near the end, I can't imagine why they brought this thing back. I didn't see the original, but the whole premise is just too long and boring. This show should have wrapped up in about 30 minutes and then maybe it would have been bearable.
I had no idea what Sweeney Todd was about when I walked into the theatre with my same-day student rush tickets. I thought the beginning of the first act dragged on and on, and I dozed off a little tiny bit. I think I only really perked up during "A Little Priest".
Now, after having the cast recording, I love the show. Go figure.
Hear the words I sing: war's a horrid thing. So, I sing sing sing... Ding a ling a ling.
A terrible terrible production of The Sound Of Music at some church my grandma took me to. The scene changes droned on for about 5 minutes. No one could act, and you would think that the Maria hadn't rehersed at all. R&H were rolling in their graves.
One of the tours of Cats that came to the State Theatre. I almost fell asleep during the one cat reminiscing about his golden years as an actor and the whole scene with the cats acting like pirates. People were like literally getting up and leaving, it didn't help that it was hot in the theatre as well.
A tour of Seussical that came to the same theatre was boring as well. I mean, I know you should be using your imagination with shows like that, but it was just God awful, the only character from the books that closely resembled was The Cat In The Hat. All the Grinch was a guy in a fuzzy green jacket. I wasn't too enthralled with a children's production of it either. I've seen photos of a school productions of Seussical and they look really good. I think that they would work better if they animate it.
The current revival of Chicago. I was excited about seeing Wayne Brady and it looked good and everything, but the show felt like it dragged on a bit and it didn't help that they lady sitting next to me was a tad too big for the seat. Does anyone else think that they should have a seat outside in the lobby where you can sit and see if you fit in the seats, kinda like they have at theme parks?
One of my favorite plays is the Laramie Project, but while back I saw a production of it and it was the most boring thing I have ever seen. It was horrible.
