I can't believe no one has mentioned FAITH HEALER or CAMELOT.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
the most boring show imo..Beauty & the Beast...Lion King might be up there but I found Beauty to be a little more boring..not a big disney fan anyways, but just could not get into it.
I found the beginning of Act 1 in Sweeney Todd a little draggy/boring, but it got better at the end of act 1 & all of act 2 was great, so i don't consider it to be an entirely boring show.
Come on babe we're gonna paint the town...and all that jazz...
"I had been thinking it would have to be a tie between the second act of SHIPWRECK and all of SALVAGE, basically the half of COAST OF UTOPIA dominated by Brian F. O'Byrne"
Seriously? Wow- I thought that Shipwreck (both acts) was pretty brilliant. Granted you actually have to listen and pay attention- but just great. I haven't seen Salvage- but I've read it, and it's pretty good- so I'm hoping I'll like it just as much as the first two.
Why was it boring for you? Was it the writing, staging? Just curious because I've heard people complain that they feel "nothing happens".
"Oh I forgot about "The Woman in White"! THAT tops my list, of Broadway snoozefests anyway. The man next to me literally fell asleep on the downbeat of the overture! That's basically all I remember of the show!"
too bad there is no overture for that show.
as for me: Jekyll and Hyde.
"I'm an American, Damnit!!! And if it's three things I don't believe in, it's quitting and math."
Vertical Hour The Frogs (the debate between Shakes and Shaw) Nine Company Spring Awakening The Music Man Oklahoma Into the Woods Thoroughly Modern Millie The Light in the Piazza
It's weird that I've seen more boring musicals than I have plays.
Brooklyn. It didn't help that two of the leads were out and for one there was an understudy for the understudy and she was from out of town and used her script the entire time. I don't remember much of the show...the box was comfy. They offered everyone a free ticket to come back and see it again...we never did.
The Grinch was a Christmas gift for the kids this year. I was bored, they seemed amused.
Saw a rendition of Footloose in AC. Not too memorable.
"Thought is suspect, and money is their idol, and nothing is okay unless it's scripted in their Bible." -Spring Awakening
"Anyone who said "Caroline, Or Change" does not appreciate live theater."
I totally agree. I also cannot BELIEVE people have said COMPANY and THE HISTORY BOYS. I mean, I can understand not liking the shows, but finding them the most boring you've ever seen? Wow.
Mine would have to be SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE in London. I wanted to die.
If I were the type of person that left shows at intermission, I would have left at intermission of The History Boys...it was the most boring play I have ever seen on the stage.
I also forgot to mention Spring Awakening...I wanted to leave at intermission for that show too.
The recent revivals of TOUCH OF THE POET and FAITH HEALER were the two longest nights I've had at the theater in over 20 years. I couldn't believe I stayed until the end of both of them.
Perhaps I'm blessed; while I certainly have been bored at shows, I've also purged those experiences from my memory. So I can't name the most boring show I've seen; it was apparently boring enough that I've forgotten it.
I have fallen asleep once, during an RSC production of The Winter's Tale. It did have pacing problems, but the main reason I fell asleep was that I had just flown in to London that morning on a red-eye and was jetlagged out of my mind.
I'd feel guilty leaving at intermission after paying to see it. I'd want to judge the whole thing.
The one show I'd have left at intermission if tickets were comps would be Inishmore. The first act was treacherous for me, but the second act made up for the first and it was a nice night at the theater.
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."

"Vertical Hour The Frogs (the debate between Shakes and Shaw) Nine Company Spring Awakening The Music Man Oklahoma Into the Woods Thoroughly Modern Millie The Light in the Piazza"
I would replace Millie with Butley, and Into the Woods with Amadeus. Then I have some boring stuff
i'm hoping it was just the production i saw because the summerstock company i usually do is doing it....the secret garden. only show that's ever made me fall asleep and it seemed to go on forever
Miss Saigon Light in the Piazza (granted, I only saw it on PBS, but it was enough for me to skip the tour) Mamma Mia! Chicago Curtains (I really wanted to like it, but it was dull; hopefully they've made a lot of changes)
