I am enjoying Alan Cuming as host! I was unimpressed with the first part of AAIP number (and just the whole number itself), am I watching a ballet or a musical?! So glad I didn't waste my $$ to watch this on my most recent visit to NYC in May
love, love, love Christian Borle, but yeah, Andy Karl should have won. And all you need is $100,000 or so to get your show spotlighted on the Tony awards, even when your show has been totally shut out, and with good reason.

The Finding Never land performance blew. I hope there are better numbers in the show that are causing audiences to flock to it.
The Visit was pretty bad too. These were two shows that at least intrigued me before watching the performances tonight.
I was a bit perplexed by AAIP. I would have liked to have seen something that demonstrated the "witty book" that was mentioned. Instead I saw a ballet, and a blab rendition of Who Could Ask for Anything More.
The rest of the performances ranged from good to great. I am glad Fun Home took the big prize, it's too bad the actresses didn't take home any awards, but I am sure the ladies of The King and I were deserving.
Fun Home winning, Christian Borle winning...Ruthie winning...ehhh.

I wish finding Neverland went with something that didn't include Kelsey and/or Matthew. If they had Laura Michelle Kelly peform all that matters then that would've grabbed more people's attention

I haven't seen Fun Home yet, but I thought their performance on the telecast was mediocre. Only one from the nominees of the show sang, and it was a song to an imaginary person. Would have preferred to hear Judy Kuhn or Michael Cerveris sing, since they had a better chance at winning than Sydney Lucas.
I was secretly hoping An American in Paris would win, even though I had a pretty good feeling the award for Best Musical would go to Fun Home.
A lot of the performances didn't seem to work as well in the telecast as they do in the actual show.
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
I simply do not understand the sensibility of people who thought the Fun Home performance was anything less than a beautiful piece of television history. Which it was.
It Shoulda Been You's performance seemed like it was representing a tired revival of a show nobody cared about during the British Invasion from the 1980s rather than a show written for 2015. The black woman line and Lisa Howard sexually assaulting the side car man was uncomfortable and outdated.
Lighten up. The sidecar remark is funny considering all the innuendos on the board. People need to get thicker skin instead of getting their knickers in a twist over the slightest thing.
Many disagree re last night both winners and performers.Disagree with some of the winners but that is life. Some shows will close and even AAIP will do great on tour even though it lost major awards. The jury is out re how well Fun will tour. Rotten basically got skunked and yet it's boffo opening number will sell a lot of tickets.
