Based on the shows' financial success, I'd say Cats, or Mamma Mia.
Oh I also forgot:
SWEENEY TODD, PASSION, PACIFIC OVERTURES and ASSASSINS.

...did I mention ANYONE CAN WHISTLE?
'cause if I didn't you can go ahead and add that one to the list as well!
As long as Into the Woods isn't in the list...
I really don't "get" South Pacific.
Oh no, I love INTO THE WOODS!
Actually I really don't think any of those shows are overrated, it's just way to easy to get some of those on the board all riled up...they get so emotionally invested. Easy and fun!
For me, Wicked. I like it, but too many people act like it's the best show on Earth. I know some have never seen anything else, but I guess for me, I like to find out about other works that might be interesting.
I'd have to go with either The Producers or Spring Awakening.
"The Lion King"
I loved the first five minutes. After that, it just wouldn't end. It was soooo boring.
Second place to Wicked. It's ok, but not worth the sell out it gets.
'Actually I really don't think any of those shows are overrated'
Thanks for the clarifying statement...because, in the end, claiming shows that are too rarefied and niche to be overrated as overrated just kind of makes you look dumb.
Glad to know you're not dumb!
Seriously, no one has said PHANTOM?
