The Mistriss: Juliana Ashley Hansen or an unknown ensemble girl

Personally, I'd like to see Wendy Ho as Eva.

Elena Roger as Eva. She played the role in the 2006 London Revival, and was the first Argentinean woman to play the role in an English language production.
She is an incredibly talented ball of sass.

Although Olivo is a tad too dark, I think she might work with the right wig and makeup. To me, she's at just the right place in her career to take on a role like Eva. I'd love to see an EVITA revival on Broadway soon.
But I want it to be something really fresh and creative. I want there to be a new spin on the otherwise- IMO- stale musical that is presented so often in community theatres across the country.

Everything about Karen Olivo (down to her speech intonation and mannerisms) reads contemporary, especially currently in WEST SIDE STORY. She has the completely wrong sensibility for a role like Eva Peron in EVITA.
Someone like Mandy Gonzalez or even Rachel York (who bears a striking resemblance to the real Eva) would be much more appropriate.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Another vote for Elena Roger. Not only would she be great, she WAS great already in London, as previously noted. A terrific choice.
Adam Pascal can play a nice blonde Che. There were times during "Chess" recently I thought he was channeling Che...(just kidding on Pascal, but not for Elena)
