Bumping again Love seeing the pictures people find for this thread.
I absolutely loved the 33 VARIATIONS set. I hope it wins the Tony.
Guys and Dolls.
I can´t help, I enjoyed this set. I thought it was impressive when all the lights went on.
Jersey Boys' set sucked. It just wasn't anything to write home about. It was just....there.
I think Billy Elliot has some ingenious sets, and I love the way they all come on at the beginning, and the exposed brick wall and whatnot. It's beautifully disgusting, if that makes sense.

Billy Elliot has rather bland and uninspired boring sets. Just like the score and rest of the show. How many times can you watch the bedroom come spinning up from the trap? Best set design for a Broadway show is the revival of An Inspector Calls hands down. The same revival is supposed to hit the West End again. Hopefully it will be revived in the same manner on Broadway again.

Man. David Korins has some AMAZING stuff on his website, wow.
I thought the set for Drowsy Chaperone was astonishing. I loved it and thought the transitions for the Man's apartment to the actions of the show were incredible.
I also think In The Heights has a really impressive, realistic set.
I just had to post this video of the Billy Elliot set! It shows some of the stage machinery.

Carrie, that[s like a no brainer. But really Wicked, I just think it is cool
9 to 5, don't no if they have changed it, but specifically the scene transitions in the preview were amazing

Does anyone have pictures of the Sweeney Revival back from the 80's. I never found pictures of it and I'm extremely curious.
It's been posted on here somewhere. Just search around.

I havn't seen the current run of THE WIZ. But in the Broadway Beat video at the end they show a clip at the end. There's a huge "fabric backdrop" and the frame of the house is built in front of it. And (I assume during the tornado scene) the back drop was ripped down, leaving the house.
It seemed very cool - just wanted to bring it up.
After seeing August: Osage County last night, I am completely in love with its set.
My favorite part of August: Osage County was in the third act, I think, where they use lights and focus them on different parts of the house. It's like a mini-montage thing. I loved that.
I love the set for We Will Rock You and the use of projections.

The WWRY set actually has a group of video panels and doesn't use projections at all.

Yeah but they still look awesome!
God, I love set design!
Haha ye I know. Im so used to calling them projections because im doing it at college.
Its great what they do with those screens in the two professional productions i've seen. Love em.

LA CAGE New London Revival
I didn't realize that the London revival of Sunset Boulevard was so minimalistic. Interesting...
