dramadude, how do we know you didn't Photoshop that? Until they make an announcement, I just can't believe you.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

People on here are so difficult.... you seriously think he photoshopped that to post on here????????
Yes.

well if its true, and unfortunately i think it probs is, i wish they would make the announcement extremely soon so i can make sure i get tickets. i dont want to get them prematurely just in case.
As much as I really hope that was faked, I seriously doubt it. It would take one very skilled photoshop artist to be able to do that, right down to the shadows and camera quality. However, I really don't see how this show would announce their closing this early, although we don't know their advance. But, to my knowledge, they haven't been under their nut since May of 2009 (which has been estimated between $215,000 and $250,000).
While it is strange that a mailer would go out WITHOUT an official announcement, if you look at the grosses and you know that historically January and February are slow months it isn't to surprising
What is surprising in a good way is that a piece of serious musical theatre has managed a long and profitable run. It is a flawed piece, but it tried so hard to achieve so much more than most musicals these days, its shortcomings should not be held against it.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks." Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Last week's grosses had it a pretty distant 2nd-to-lowest (after "Mrs. Warren's Profession" with only 5 performances in its first week...) Sad, but to echo Frontrow, it's heartening that "a piece of serious musical theatre has managed a long and profitable run."
As a former art director with a penchant for pranks, the best way to photoshop something like this would be to actually create it in a page layout program, print it on glossy paper, and take a photo of it to post.
Fat chance that a handful of BWW members decided to do this in this short amount of time.

i suspect the mailers went out accidentally prematurely. im sure the press agent will be thrilled they went out before any release of any official info. any chance they are waiting to notify the cast? seems doubtful but im just trying to figure out any possible reason the announcement hasnt come if it is in fact true.
CyCoSpAz2, thanks! I just couldn't believe this horrible news until I saw something official.
