This cd is flippin psychedelic! Adam, Raul, Laura, Julia, Euan, Norm, Gavin, Shoshana, Jai, Eden, Sherie all sound GRRRRRREAT! I can't even explain how mind-blowing this cd is!

"complete oratory sex" - hilarious. yeah, i have played it several times (to say teh least). the picture inside of jai in his undies is so random. and i have never heard shoshana before - she rocks!!! i do have to say though, i'm not that sold on the gospel intro before sodomy. walking in space is good too. they have a good ensemble.

I've heard it and I believe it's the best thing I've heard this year. Now that the new HAIR tour by Richard Frankel Productions isn't far behind, sales of the CD should skyrocket!

I got mine too and while I love it, I still have a few complaints. Lilias White, who is usually a vocal godess, completely ruined "Aquarius." For one she came in WAY too early. Also, whoever produced this needs to be fired. Sometimes it sounds like a karaoke vocal track. But, overall I like it a lot. My favorites singers are:

Jai Rodriguez
Ana Gasteyer ( God, she is amazing )
Shoshana Bean (Duh!)
Laura Benanti
Adam Pascal
Gavin Creel
Raul Esparza
Jennifer Hudson ( my favorite part of the whole cd. Love her )
Eden Espinosa ( Duh, reprise )
Billy Porter
the "Black Boys/White Boys" girls

Everyone else was alright but nothing special. I mean, a few people just didn't put the feeling some of the songs required. Again, I really do like the cd and glad that I bought it but I like the movie soundtrack better as a whole.

Oh yeah mine has been playing non-stop as well.

I have to disagree about Lillias White, though. As good as she was in the live recording she's even more controlled here. Some of those notes she hits are, in typical Lillias White fashion, totally over the top but what a way to start out the CD!

Many of the tempos have been increased so as to fit all the songs on one CD. Therefore many of the singers come in just a little early but it's nothing to complain about.

Jennifer Hudson does the best Jennifer Holliday impression I've heard in a while.

And while I think Ana sounds quite different from the live recording, it just further convinces me she will make an impressive Elphaba.

Well, I'm in England and I got mine today. And it is fantastic!!! J'adore it!

Tell me, what is the 'live recording' that some of you have mentioned? And Harris Doran features in many of the songs as 'Claude'...I'm not familiar with the plot of Hair. Who's Claude?
