Patti was flat, uniteresting, and everything Patti should never be. She's a diva, and should act like one.
I vote Kelli 100 times out of 100.

I must gripe about Brian F. O'Byrne.
How?
I'm with you, touch.
I was never much a fan of this Sweeney revival. One can hope against hope that THE PAJAMA GAME comes out victorious.
I love Lauren Molina and wish she would have gotten nod.

I have to second what doodle said. I found Patti's performance very compelling, spot-on, and captivating. No one deserves it more! The Sweeney revival, I feel, is incredible in its intricacies.
I don't get the Chita nom...it was like another elaine stritch or bea show but with an ensemble...LOVE LOVE LOVE Chita - but should have put her in the Sarah Jones category.
AMY SPANGER...that's all I'll say. The woman deserved at least a nomination.
-k
I really think Maria Friedman deserved a nom. And I would have liked to see Lauren Molina get one as well.
Funny, I thought the best part of Patti's perf. is that she was able to hold back. We've seen her take eyebrows off the first row, but I LOVED her subtlety, especially in Pies. The whole cast delivering subtle tension was what made this revival a masterpiece.
I respect the other opinions wholeheartedly, tho...as Patti says:
"They either love me, or hate me!"
If she were not to win, I'd give it to LaChanze...and I like Kelli alot, just not as much in this role.

"No WELL but RABBIT HOLE? Please.
A mediocre, water-treading Lifetime movie about grief vs. a witty, heartfelt, paean to the true mysteries of parent-child bonds. Ridiculous."
Auggie - I couldn't possibly agree with you more on this. With perhaps a little more emphasis on the RIDICULOUS.

I think I may steal a Tony Award and give it to Cyndi.
That's how pissed I am.
Now, who has a Tony Award they are willing to donate to a worthy cause?
You could steal one from Hal Prince. He might not notice.
I am disappointed about no noms for: Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer, and (I know I might be in the minority here but) Paul Rudd.

Good thinking!
He has plenty.
Like taking a really tasty piece of candy from Sally Struthers.
HEY!
Watch the Struthers jokes.

I would have liked to see Donna Lynne Champlin or Lauren Molina nominated in the featured actress category for Sweeney.
Cyndi Lauper - 3P0
Amy Spanger - Wedding Singer
Felicia Finley - Wedding Singer
oh and why give a Lifetime Achievement Award to Hal Prince? the man has walls and walls and walls and walls of Tonys already.

Buddah? I think you mean Jabba BSO.

Yes, and Hal Prince has Phantom to worry about. He can't be taking the time off.

I don't want to sound ignorant- but is there a reason why the Odd Couple was completly left out of this years nominations? I thought that show was wonderful and I am wondering if I am missing some huge piece to the puzzle.
LaScreamz should not be in the running for the award.
I am completely and utterly pissed over:
Lisa Kron's nomnination for best actress.
Cyndi Lauper's lack of a nomination.
Cherry Jones' lack of a nomination.
Dominic Cooper's lack of a nomination.
Etc.
THE ODD COUPLE was left out because it's absolutely terrible.
