By far Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls is the greatest Tony performance I've ever seen.
I also really enjoyed "Easy Street." It shows what a show stopper that number is when it's performed right. Actually, that entire "Annie" medley was pretty great.

I'm surprised no one has said HAIRSPRAY. I had never seen the show before, and I thought Radio City was going to explode.
Edit: OOPS! Someone already said "Hairspray" Looks like I can't be original after all.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
I would never want to detract from the genius that is Patti LuPone and I love that performance just as much as anybody else, but I think it's only fair to mention that the vocals were prerecorded for that performance. (In those days, I think all of the vocals were prerecorded for the performances...) It's still her, you know she can do it, but today's performers do not have that luxury.
