That makes me happy for McKenzie. She had a tough go with Frozen.

Very happy for McKenzie. From what I've heard from her Anna her voice is lovely. It would be very fun if Ciara Renee could join her!
I believe Jenni Barber is the last principal Bway Glinda who hadn't previously played the role
Crossing my fingers for a reunion with Ciara Renee, she’d be a spectacular Elphaba

Can’t say how I know but I can confirm Ciara is not joining the show

Per Playbill.com, Alyssa Fox is the next lead Elphaba. Her statement on Instagram about being the first Asian American Elphaba and first auditioning for the show in 2008 is very moving.
Alyssa was my first Elphaba ever back on tour and I had the chance to see her again as standby on Broadway. She's truly incredible and I'm so happy she finally gets to be the lead on Broadway
It’s certainly taken long enough to move her to lead on Broadway. Congrats Alyssa.
First Asian Elphaba! Congrats to Alyssa. I saw her years ago and thought she was wonderful.

Read her statement on Instagram and was very moved. Reading that, she has truly earned this. SO HAPPY FOR HER!
It’s been a long time coming and she’s gained so much experience with the show with so many different companies.
Congrats, Alyssa.
I saw Alyssa go on for Talia this past summer, and she was incredible. Sang the score better than most I’ve seen. Excited for her to get a full Broadway run!

It’s also worth noting that Alyssa was the Elsa Standby during McKenzie Kurtz’s short run as Anna. I’m not sure if they ever had the chance to share the stage but it’s a cute Frozen reunion nonetheless

I think she might have performed with McKenzie like...once? I could be wrong
Ciara was out the day before the Covid shutdown, so Alyssa and McKenzie did the last two Broadway performances of Frozen together.
Not sure if they had gone on together before that date or not.

With James Gish coming in on a year and Jordan Litz leaving the tour, I have a gut feeling he’s going to be taking over in the Broadway Company

Wouldn't surprise me with Wickeds track record of transferring touring company members over to the Broadway production and...vice versa? Has that happened?
Official: Mary Kate Morrissey will be joining Wicked as the Elphaba standby for her Broadway debut, starting February 14; she began rehearsals this week.
She will stand by for the remainder of Suskauer’s run, then stand by for Fox.
A trio of Broadway veterans will join the cast on March 7:
John Dossett takes over as the Wizard, Kimber Elayne Sprawl is the new Nessarose, and original cast member William Youmans returns as Doctor Dillamond.

Wicked really said they didn't want me to save money with these cast announcements and the fact that this year is the 20th anniversary... but I HAVE to see this cast!!

Is this the first time the Wizard and Madam Morrible are being played by an in real life couple?
Nessarose is such a waste of Kimber Elayne Sprawl's talents, but alright.

my reaction exactly. she didnt blow me away in GFNTC, but she deserves more than this small role. Not the first time ive had this thought re Nessarose, I wonder if it pays particularly well or something?

It's a job.
My guess would be 3k-ish
Okay but a member of the OBC coming back and reprising their role 20 years later?? Slay.

How is McKenzie as Glinda? Can't wait to see her.
My gf and I are very interested in seeing Mary Kate Morrissey as Elphaba on Broadway. Is there a particular performance, like the Wednesday matinee, that the standby regularly performs? Does it depend on the lead? Might Talia have MKM take the Wednesday matinee, whereas Alyssa might have her always take the Saturday matinee? Just wondering how much we can plan on her performing at a particular time before booking flights and a hotel.
