Lin-Manuel was taken to eat on the balcony of the Hard Rock Cafe in between shows today where he was surprised by a very large group of people below him who "spontaneously" broke out into a dance routine to '96,000' which was being played over the loud speakers of City Walk.
The video should be edited and up online by the end of this weekend. His reaction was priceless and I had a blast taking part!

They handed him a mic to talk to the crowd right after. I am pretty sure it will all be edited in.
I was meant to dance it but the music was NOT as loud as they said it would be so we missed our cue! They had told us to wait inside the stores and to blend in until a certain part of the song. I popped my head out the store to see what was happening about 2 minutes before the scheduled time and they were just about finished with it so I only got to do the very end

I got to dance and it was a great experience. It was hilarious hearing people say, "look, they're doing High School Musical" when people first started randomly dancing. Then they tried to get a closer look not realizing they were right in the middle of a huge group that was about to erupt in dance very shortly. The look on Lin's face was priceless.

IT WAS F*CKING CRAZY, Y'ALL.
I have a video from my crappy Kodak Easyshare perspective, but it doesn't really do it justice. To see old ladies and little kids build into 300 people, doing a dance to a song you wrote. Can't wait for the edited video to emerge.
I was there for a "press event," having dinner with some fans as part of some sweepstakes. I was totally surprised. Thanks to the Pantages and Flash Mob USA, and all of y'all who learned all that. Aight. Gotta go do Act Two. Thanks again!

It was indeed awesome. Nice build till the end. I was up on the balcony and had a blast watching both the mob and LIn's growing reaction. We are indeed thrilled to have such a warm, wonderful talent out here in LA!

There seem to be several groups that do them. The one that organized this is called Flash Mob America. It's the first one I've participated in and I only found out about it through the Pantages twitter account.
Speaking of, they put up this teaser one. They said "official one coming soon" so keep your eyes peeled :)
