According to Riedel.

I'm pretty intrigued. I know this has been talked about ages. But she's almost 70. Can it work?

Ugh.
No. F*cking. Way.
Ugh? Sorry, but this could be one of the great screen performances of all time if done right. I don't think I could express my excitement in words.

Well, now we have to movie musical remakes to look foreward to. We have "My Fair Lady" with Carey Mulligan and now this.

That ought to just about snap whatever tenuous hold Ms. Lupone has on reality.
But, I'll believe it when I see it.
Should we start dream casting Louise? I guess Anne Hathaway is the obvious choice.
I love Streisand. If done right this could be great. It's about time we got a decent movie musical.
I hope this happens. And I hope this is the best on screen performance in the history of movie musicals!
"I guess Anne Hathaway is the obvious choice."
Yes. Yes she is. Yes.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't there rumors that Barbara was going to do the film version that eventually became the Bette TV version?
I still dream about what Judy Garland would have done with the role had she been in the original film version instead of Roz...
Ah well.
This has brilliant written all over it. I really hope this actually happens.
Capn, if this happens it will be the performance of her career. God, this is exciting news.
If we are to believe Riedel, he said it is in "deep negotiations." While the idea of an almost 70-year-old Rose is a bit jarring at first, I would love to see her take a stab at this role.
Jordan, I've just never been a Barbra fan. If it happens, I'll have to pass.
Although Anne Hathaway would make a very good Louise.
My only problem with this is that its not already made and in theaters for my viewing pleasure.
I love Streisand, but I think it's a very bad idea for anyone to attempt to direct themselves in "Rose's Turn".

I"m excited as well.
I hope she doesn't alter the score much. But I also hope it's not a copy and paste of the stage show as the boring Midler film was.
Babs certainly doesn't look 70, I think she could pull it off but it will be tricky.
Worse comes to worse they can do what they did to Angelina Jolie in BEOWULF.
