Most of the media people who saw the first few episodes of this season mentioned that it took a few episodes to find its new footing but it does get there.
I was happy with most of tonight. They are embracing some of the soapy aspects that are going to exist, while trimming a lot of fat. I'm not sure this show could ever be perfect (especially to theatre lovers who will nitpick everything, and I freely admit I am one) but it seems better now then it did at any point last season.

I loved it. I don't care to nitpick it. I thought it was as good as the pilot. I had no need for the drunk Derek fantasy sequence but I liked all the other songs. And poor Teresa Rebeck with the scarf line.

Will & Grace meets Glee meets Zzzzzzzzzzzz. And it's already preempted next week. Way to build momentum. And what were the new original songs??? The one sung by this season's newest contender for most annoying character, Jimmy, sounded like the only new one to me. The other's were covers and retreads from last season.

Rebecca Shukert referred to "anger salads" in season one. In season two the show features "apology muffins."

Broadway Here I Come was the Iconis' song.
There was lots I liked, and lots I rolled my eyes at -- but overall, I was satisfied. I like the new characters, but feel some are going to have to disappear to actually give proper attention to others.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Thanks NovaNurse and yes that line about the scarves was inspired.
My one big complaint was not enough music. I think they are righting the ship though overall.

I feel season 2 is off to a solid start and full of so many possibilities. Karen goes into Hit List & Ivy joins Sean Hayes' musical comedy in the lead role. Bombshell still gets workshopped and doesn't arrive on Broadway until the following season. The Tony's will feature Karen vs. Ivy vs. Jennifer Hudson(Wiz revival??), thus leading into season 3 with who gets to play Marilyn on Broadway.
and that red haired actress that Derek confronted was Mara Davi.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm still digging it. I'm not in show business and I don't live in New York, so maybe that's why it's easier for me to watch than a lot of you.
Was Julia's pregnancy storyline ever tied up? Are they just ignoring what happened in the finale (which I would TOTALLY be okay with) or did I miss it?
