I found it to be an odd episode as well- love Gaga and she was certainly game, but it felt far too centered on her. I also thought announcing the lack of a LSFYL early on really killed the tension. Early favorites are without a doubt Sasha and Nina. Eureka and Alexis did quite nicely as well. Not at all taken with Jaymes, Kimora, or Trinity. I could see Jaymes stepping it up, since she seems delightfully bonkers, but Kimora feels like Gia Gunn 2.0. Still, so totally thrilled this show is back!

Kimora and James do feel like the first two to go. Not fond of Aja either, but at least Untucked seem to humanize her a bit. I thought she came off really badly during the episode itself; not enough skill to back up the ego. And I will never get the appeal of a septum piercing, but to each his own.

With All-Stars 2 being so amazing from top to bottom I felt that it was kind inevitable that the start of season 9 was going to be slow going.

Not sending anyone home just seemed like away to make sure there was no queen that was "sent home by Lady Gaga," but this does set us up for a double elimination later in the season.

Was very surprised by how much of a winning edit that Eureka was being given already, but I think the Vegas girls and Jaymes Mansfield are first up on the chopping block.

The quality of the shoot seems so high this season. It's all bright and fun, I love it. I do agree that the show gave me a serious case of drag race blue balls - what with no LSFYL.

Any guesses about the returning queen? I'd personally love to see Laila McQueen come back but the butt/walk/style was not her. It might be Gia Gunn (absolutely not want it to be her).

My money is on Cynthia Lee Fontine.

The consensus seems to be that the 14th queen is Cynthia Lee Fontaine. I did enjoy her enough on the show, but I don't really see the need to bring her back.

Well... Cynthia it is. I was hoping Kimora Blac would be kicked out but there's always the next episode.

Maybe if Kimora gets eliminated she'll repost her porn that she took off Xtube.

I'm having Finding Prince Charming (gay Bachelor) flashbacks.

I thought jayvees gave a way better LSFYL than that other nasty piece of trash.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Now that's a bit of a stretch.

I'm still waiting for a fun, unique challenge. This one was fun, but the editing made it all about the "Project Runway" aspect and none about creating the other side piece character. It all still feels very  lackluster. Though,  I do look forward to hearing the judges jokes every week.

I thought the show jumped the shark last season. And this season's first few episodes have proven me right. Ho. Hum.

This is the best bunch of queens since it's peak of Seasons 5 and 6, but the challenges and editing have been only okay. Why have we not had any mini-challenges? Why was Lisa Kudrow there? Bringing back a sewing challenge is a start, but I miss a lot of those classic Drag Race challenges.

The lack of mini-challenges is strange, to be sure. I also think that it's a strong bunch of queens, but I can't get a feel yet for any clear frontrunners, outside of Valentina.

Very happy that Kimora was eliminated- what kind of queen can't do a decent lip sync to either Love Shack or Holding Out For A Hero? Aja is sort of a mess and her makeup is hideous, but she kicked ass on the lip sync.

Even without any mini-challenges, I think the episodes so far have to been far too packed. They seem over edited, I feel like there wasn't enough room for some of the funnier reads to breathe (including last week's runway). I'd be happy to see some more queens leave so we can get more workroom stuff.

As for emerging front-runners I'd watch out for Sasha, Charlie, and quite possibly Shea. This is one phenomenal season indeed.

PS - this lighting's awful.

I could see Valentina, Shea, Nina, Sasha, Peppermint, and either Alexis or Trinity as the top six. From there, it's anyone's guess right now.

I think VH1 required more commercial time so the episodes are a bit shorter, but 14 queens is just too many in this format. They aren't getting any screen time. Things are discussed in Untucked, like behavior and budding strife, that we're not seeing on the show. It's messy this season.

Valentina is beautiful, but I think saying she had only been doing drag for 10 months was very misleading. She had only been doing it professionally, full time, for 10 months. She's been dressing and doing makeup for years. She is being strategic. RuPaul's Drag Race season 9

Aja's makeup is a MESS. She's a fierce lip syncer, but those overdrawn lips are hurting my feelings.

I did love Untucked this week. Untucked is far more fun than the show so far.

More than ever, this season has proven that watching Drag Race is not complete without Untucked. I've found this season pretty lackluster so far despite some incredibly talented Queens, mostly due to some uninspired challenges and very little "fun". But when I watch the corresponding Untucked episodes, suddenly I see the the forest for the trees. If Drag Race isn't using World of Wonder's editors, they are making a tragic mistake. If they are, then I blame VH1 for reducing the amount of screen time we get per episode.

My money is on a Valentina, Sasha, Nina Bonina top 3.

The UNTUCKED videos on Youtube that air after each episode offer some additional insight into each episode and each girl's mindset plus some never-hear gossip, it's the only way IMO to really get into this show. Every episode feels more rushed than the last one:

I have to say, I love Slay Coulee after this episode. Can see her, Valentina, Sasha, and possibly Eureka taking the top 3-4 spots. Nina is currently on the "get over your inner saboteur, gurl" track of this season. I had Charlie on the top until now, but I guess that went out the door.

Agree with everyone here that episodes are incredibly rushed this season. Last episode's runaway was like 15 seconds total. Blink and you miss a queen. What the heck is up with that?

Eureka is definitely talented but her attitude in the show and on Untucked is awful. She's an O'Hara like Phi Phi, and I think the family resemblance shows strongly there.

Right now Shea and Valentina seem like definitely contenders for Top 3.
